A Riddle

Conquer vos

Quae tua est in saeculum

Parva est pretiosa

Et inveniamus jacentem in caede

.

.

She tried for the umpteenth time to decipher the Latin phrase, using a little nuance from her newly discovered skills, which thankfully weren't strange to her anymore.

But to her utter dismay, she wasn't able to do so.

With a frustrated sigh, she closed the giant book with a thud, something she had spent more than an hour on, and desperately opened her Macbook.

'Skip witchy woos, and have Google to the rescue!''

She muttered to herself, as she quickly opened Google Translator, and without wasting another second, typed the Latin phrases in a supersonic speed, since she had already mugged up the lines while pouring in her concentration of mind in its entirety. And to her joy, technology didn't disappoint her as did her mental understanding of spells so far.

And just with one click, her answers were displayed on the screen. However, whether the answers were sufficient or not, that was hard to tell.

Conquer you must

What is yours forevermore

Petty is precious

You shall discover lying in the gore

"HUH?"

She narrowed her eyes as utter confusion struck her and she kept gazing at the screen looking like a halfwit, unable to fathom what that could even mean!

With a perplexed face, she opened the book once again, where the same lines in Latin version remained imprinted, something that her grandmother Amelia had highlighted to be a 'Spell that was supreme.''

'As if what I found out till now wasn't confusing enough that I have a brand new riddle in the form of a spell to decode!''

Khushi mumbled in exasperation to herself and in annoyance, raked her hand through her long wavy hair.

As she lay on her back on the bed looking at the ceiling, she exhaled a deep breath, trying to calm her busy nerves, and after five minutes, it did help. As she continued to look upwards, she let her newfound powers take their course, and a faint smile appeared on her face as once again the lamps of the room lit up, illuminating the ambiance entirely, creating a beautiful little space of congeniality.

Power wasn't superficial anymore.

The new life wasn't intimidating anymore.

Though it was hard to draw a fine line between her strength and weakness, but today she knew that she really couldn't circumvent this anymore, and maybe, she didn't want to either.

And amidst all this, if she was sanguine about one thing, it was the fact that a lot of this calmness, this faith, depended on him.

The deafening silence which still appeared afresh from that night when she thought she would lose it forever, now seemed to be the most beautiful thing that ever happened to her.
