"Krazy Khushi"

"Always pessimistic, right?"

"Here's your call letter."

"Have applied for South Eastern Verman International too!''

.

She was trapped in the broken echoes of those words, as if surrounded by that familiar voice which now only appeared to be a lie.

Her mind was blurred with emotions, so strong that for a second she didn't understand what made her tears uncontrollable?

The fact that her childhood friend, her best friend was actually dead?

Or

The fact that it was a monster in that body of that very same best friend of hers?

Wrestling the crippling fears in her mind, Khushi hugged her knees closer to her chest as she tried to stifle another sob, but she couldn't avoid it no matter how hard she tried.

.

.

Eight Months.

It was nearing to be a year since Mason was dead and this only meant that this had all started way before she even came to know what she truly was!

''How could I be so blinded?''

''How could us all be so easily hoodwinked?''

She cursed her own naivety for the first time as she chided her easy faith on people, but only her own tears met her vision.

She hiccupped between her sobs, a rancid sensation streaming up her throat as her tears continued to make their way through her eyes.

Only if I knew what was hidden there, behind those blue eyes.

Only if I knew all the words that escaped his mouth were a part of this big game, which till today I didn't know I was a part of.

Only if I was strong enough, to not believe things at face value and undermine their potential to destroy everything.

Yet again she berated herself, for failing.

The memories didn't want to fade away from her mind as she recalled all the moments that she spent with him, all these months, only to be devastated by the fact that it wasn't him at all.

Even picturing those childhood moments appeared as a sin to her.

On one hand, she still found it impossible to get herself accustomed with this new blow, which was hell bent on hammering her strength and on the other hand, she didn't have any answer to what this meant and what was to come next.

.

.

"I'm sorry."

Khushi finally whispered in between her sobs, looking at Arnav who stood right in front of her, his hands folded across his chest, giving her ample amount of time to deal with the disaster.

.

.

"Sshh, it's okay. I'm here. You don't have to apologize Sunshine, you know that."

He replied coming towards her, cupping her cheek with one hand while his other hand moved away the fringes of her hair from her face.

"I.. I- don't-"
