Liliana's pov

I wasn't going to update until Saturday, but I decided to update today because I really appreciate all of the votes and comments from last chapter!

"You ready" Derek asks as he stands at my room door.

"Yeah" I nod, before following him into the living room. After last night I knew I definitely needed to get back to Seattle as soon as possible to find out what exactly is going on and to fix my marriage so I got a ticket for the first flight available today. I'm appreciative of my time in D.C. and it has helped me so much emotionally, but it's time to go back home and face reality again.

"Why do you have a suitcase" I ask seeing that Derek also has a suitcase with him

"I'm coming with you" he says

"Derek, you don't have to do that" I say

"I know, but I want to and I'm overdue for a trip to visit Meredith and the kids anyways" he says as he walks over to me and grabs my bags for me

"Well okay then" I nod, before he goes to put our stuff in the car

"Is that everything" he asks walking back inside the house

"Yeah, that's everything" I sigh

"Okay, you ready to go" he asks

"Yeah" I nod taking one last look around before we walk outside to the car. "I'm really going to miss this place" I say as we pull away

"Well you're always welcome back. I enjoyed having you around. I wouldn't have minded if you wanted to stay longer" he says

"I know, but it's time for me to get back home to my husband. If I even still have one" I sigh

"Everything's going to be fine. You and Jackson are going to work things out" he assures me

"I really hope so" I say

"Did he ever answer the phone last night when you tried to call him" he asks

"Nope, my calls just kept going straight to voicemail" I sigh

"He's just being stubborn because he's upset right now" he sighs

"I know, I just hope that once I'm back home we can sit down and have a civil conversation, like two people who love each other instead of arguing like we're enemies and that he has an explanation for some girl answering his phone last night" I say

"I'm sure he will. Jackson may be angry with you, but he loves you. He wouldn't cheat on you" he says

"I hope that you're right" I sigh laying my head against the window. I spend the rest of the car ride in silence looking out the window and taking in the scenery until we make it to the airport. Once we get there we get checked in before going to the waiting area to wait for our flight. I spend most of the time trying to call Jackson even though he doesn't answer as expected, so I give up and put my phone away before I go get a bottle of water so I can take my Ambien as I usually do before flights and a short while later it's time for us to board the plane. Of course I spend the whole flight sleeping because of a combination of the medication and also because I barely got any rest last night since I was so stressed about everything happening with Jackson. The flight feels super short, since I slept through the majority of it even though it was 6 and a half hours. Once we arrive we go grab our luggage before leaving the airport.

"You okay" Derek asks as we drive to my house

"Yeah, I just didn't realize how much I missed Seattle until now" I say

"Yeah, it's always nice to be back home. Are you ready to see Jackson" he asks

"I'm not sure. I mean I've missed him so much, so I want to see him, but I know that this isn't going to be some happy reunion. We have so much to discuss and work through. Just thinking about it makes me exhausted" I sigh
