"Hmm."

Seeing the plants in his garden having sprouted and has perfectly grown to spread flowers Ye Gui Feng look upon them quizzically with a book in hand. This is a book that contains herb names and descriptions along with some of their usages.

"Let's see... This is the Tears of the Undead King, Withering Skull Face, Moonless Black Rose and this last one is..."

A total of five herbs of priceless value are now in front of Ye Gui Feng but the fifth one that is at the center...

"Hmm..."

Ye Gui Feng continues to flip through the pages of the book to find a picture of it. This flower is a blood red chrysanthemum.

Out of the five Ye Gui Feng can tell that this is the most extraordinary as it even gives off a blood red shine causing it to look quite ominous.

"Xuè Yuè Júhuā. (血月菊花Translation: Chrysanthemum of the Bloody Moon)"

Having finally found what it is that he is looking for Ye Gui Feng's eyes softly narrows and begins to read the descriptions of this plant.

"Let's see, let's see uh... It is said to have only one owner throughout its life. Upon maturity one should feed it a droplet of their own blood to make an imprint. Said to be capable of manipulating blood but it is unknown as to what degree it can do so."

Blinking his eyes Ye Gui Feng tilts his head. But he follows the suggestions to feed the plant a droplet of his blood.

Making a cut on the tip of his finger Ye Gui Feng drips his blood down onto the flower's petal.

Upon Ye Gui Feng's blood dripping onto the petal of the red chrysanthemum the red glow of it intensifies.

"I guessed that worked?"

Raising his eyebrows Ye Gui Feng sighs in the lack of information that describes the plant's usages.

"*Sigh* constantly cultivating is far too boring. I should head outside of the Awakened Corpses Faction and see more of the sect."

But thinking about the rules and customs of the two combat orientated sect made Ye Gui Feng hesitant on doing so.

"Well I'll just avoid their domains..."

As he steps out of the cave Ye Gui Feng sees Hou Jia Bao walking by towards the center of the sect.

"Xiao Feng."

"Senior Brother Hou are you heading to the center of the sect?"

"Yes. Do you wish to come along?"

Having a guide would help greatly as Ye Gui Feng nods and the two head towards the center of the sect.

Upon entering the center of the sect there is a giant billboard placed at the very center. On both sides it is riddled with missions from the sect.

"Our sect has two options of currency. One is merit points and the second is spirit stones. Some items can only be gained by merit points alone. In general a single mission will come with a bit of both."

Although Ye Gui Feng had no interest in accepting a mission right now he never the less finds this information to be helpful for his future.

"There's grades to Undead Ashes. The ones that you used are quite poor in quality but with enough merit points you can buy more."

Hou Jia Bao continues to explain that Undead Ashes are divided up into ten grades and why the higher grades are worth the price despite their cost.

"I see."

There might be worth in taking on some missions later down the line if it's like this.

"Here, here gather round!"

A few disciples dressed in slightly fancier robes shout to draw attention. In their hands is a stack of papers.

"Hm?"

"Ah that..."

As if feeling a headache coming up Hou Jia Bao pats his forehead.

"The yearly outer sect tournament shall be starting soon. Those interested in inner sect promotions be sure to show up here in four months!"

"What's that?"

"Well it's for anyone interested in getting into the inner sects. But for us in the Awakened Corpses Faction it's somewhat worthless considering how we all have Immortal Caves and share almost the same amount of benefits as those that are already there."

It wasn't strange to find members of the Awakened Corpses Faction walking around in the inner sect domains of the Burial Grounds Sect's territory as it was quite common.

The resources that those in the Awakened Corpses Faction get from being a standard member of the faction is considered inner sect disciple only resources but because there are so few disciples within that faction there really was no point in arguing whether or not this is right.

"Top five are allowed into the inner sects! First prize is 5,000 spirit stones and merit points along with a magic treasure of your choosing from the sect! Second prize is 2,500 spirit stones and 1,500 merit points! Third prize is 1,500 spirit stones and 500 merit points!"

The number of merit points are quite tempting making Ye Gui Feng somewhat tempted to join. According to Hou Jia Bao the current Undead Ashes that they are using is only those of the third grade. Anything above that can cost around 1,000 merit points and higher.

"*Sigh* I doubt I'd stand a chance. Forget it. Is there any other places of interest?"

But Ye Gui Feng quickly dismisses these thoughts.

"We could take a look at the Hēi Tiě Pài (黑铁派Translation: Black Steel Faction) or the Wǔ Dān Pài (五丹派 Translation: Five Pills Faction)."

As their names would suggest the Black Steel Faction works on crafting weapons or any object related to steel while the Five Pills Faction are the alchemists of the Burial Grounds Sect.

"Most of our ashes come from Five Pills Faction. They also take custom orders for a specific grade of ashes if needed. Jiangshi are quite commonly used as pill servants so the relationship between us and them have always been rather good."

Having a Jiangshi is considered almost a necessity for the alchemists of the sect because having one made it easier on them when concocting pills and saves money in the long run from not having to pay for a living assistant.

"I see."

Just as Ye Gui Feng and Hou Jia Bao are about to head to the alchemist division their identification medallion flies out of their storage bags to float right in front of their eyes.

"This...?"

"Let's go back first."

They had to hold back their plans as they are being summoned back.

"What could this be about?"

Upon heading back to the Awakened Corpses Faction Elder Shu can be seen standing by at the center.

"What's going on?"

"There's a bit of unfortunate news for everyone gathered here."

Everyone's mouth twitched as they knew that when Elder Shu mentions unfortunate news it meant something must be bad enough to the point that it was a matter of life and death for the faction.

"We need to send someone for the inner sect tournament."

Almost at the same exact moment that the words left Elder Shu's mouth everyone sucks in a breath of cold air.
