"He even brought a blanket...?"

Gui Ling Ling looks on in amazement. How could anyone be so carefree in such an environment? A single slip up can get one killed.

"Heh this is just like him."

"You sure he didn't hear us talking?"

"Relax this Ye Gui Feng isn't the sort to lie."

"How can you trust him? He's someone from a demonic sect."

"Aren't we all?"

Gui Ling Ling glares at Feng Jian Yun.

"Alright, alright, I'm only jokin-"

Feng Jian Yun's eyes twitch and quickly reaches a hand out to stop Gui Ling Ling from drawing out her sword by holding back her wrist.

"Are you insane? His Jiangshi is still there."

Feng Jian Yun who saw the destructive abilities of Ye Gui Feng's Jiangshi with his own eyes quickly stops Gui Ling Ling. She hadn't been there during the trip to the Nine Dragons' Vault because of her secluded cultivation.

However Feng Jian Yun knew.

That Jiangshi is not be trifled with. It can easily kill Nascent Soul realm practitioners without expending too much effort.

"I'm not stupid enough to pick a fight with something at the Soul Separation realm. Relax I just need to sharpen it."

Releasing his grip on Gui Ling Ling's wrist Feng Jian Yun sighs with relief. Even if the two of them teamed up they couldn't possibly hope to defeat Ye Gui Feng's Jiangshi.

Gui Ling Ling takes out a whetstone from her storage bag and a bit of water. She begins to sharpen her flying sword with practiced efficiency.

"Still he puts in quite a bit of effort into caring for that Jiangshi. It almost looks alive..."

"I say that's creepy. Every single one of those people from the Awakened Corpses Faction are insane to do this as a craft."

As someone that is from outside of the Awakened Corpses Faction the crafts of such a twisted art is not something that Gui Ling Ling can understand.

Cutting open a body that had once been alive is simply defiling the dead so Gui Ling Ling sees no reason to do such an immoral thing.

"Really? For some reason I find those in the Awakened Corpses Faction to be a lot more normal than the others. They're a close knit community."

Feng Jian Yun is a bit envious of Ye Gui Feng being so close to those of his faction. It made him miss home.

"Hmph I can only see them as insane."

"If he was insane then the first thought that came into his mind when I asked if he heard us talking wouldn't be that of a tryst."

Gui Ling Ling pauses in sharpening her sword as she glares hatefully at the sleeping face of Ye Gui Feng.

"One of these days I'll kill him for daring to slander me."

"Heh once you're finished take a break. We've been walking around all the time since we've gotten here. I'll be first watch."

A few hours pass and Ye Gui Feng opens his eyes only to see Feng Jian Yun still up while Gui Ling Ling had curled up to the side with eyes closed.

"Tha-"

Just as Ye Gui Feng is about to point out how Feng Jian Yun shouldn't leave a girl to sleep like that his eyes twitch.

The moment Feng Jian Yun also sensed what Ye Gui Feng had sensed he puts on a serious face.

"Footsteps?"

Feng Jian Yun quickly wakes up Gui Ling Ling and Ye Gui Feng puts out the fires before tossing all the burnt wood into the waters. There wasn't enough time to get rid of the ashes.

They quickly got behind cover to see who's coming up from behind them.

"Senior brother Dai it's quite cold here..."

"Hmph deal with it."

A youth dressed in a red set of robes stood at the forefront of ten seven practitioners. All of them are at the Foundation Establishment realms with the red robed youth being the strongest.

"Dài Jīnyú (代金鱼) of the Thousand Ghosts Sect."

Gui Ling Ling whispers this name as she looks on with a glare.

"You and you. Go on ahead to scout."

Ye Gui Feng and the others decided to keep watch for now as they remain in hiding.

30 minutes later the two scouts return.

"Reporting, it's completely frozen up ahead."

"Oh? Anything else?"

"We couldn't make it very far but there's some kind of pressure that prevents us from going forward. We'd have to fight that pressure to get to the other side of the room."

Hearing this a greedy smiles appears on Dai Jinyu's face.

"Heh the legacy and the most valuable treasures are close by then."

"Congratulation senior brother Dai. Once you obtain the legacy you'll be one step closer to Core Formation!"

The underlings are quick to praise as they offer up congratulations.

"Talk about kissing ass..."

Ye Gui Feng looks on with a strange expression.

"Hahaha. Enough, let's move on."

Those of the Thousand Ghosts Sect quickly moved on in excitement as Ye Gui Feng and the others come out of hiding.

"What do we do?"

"Obviously we stop him."

Gui Ling Ling looks about ready to duke it out with the people up ahead.

"I disagree. Let's observe a bit longer."

Gui Ling Ling gives Ye Gui Feng a glance but just as she was about to speak Feng Jian Yun beats her to the punch.

"Agreed. We don't know what's up ahead. Being a bit more cautious is nice."

It was two to one so they decides to stick with the majority as they followed behind those from the Thousand Ghosts Sect.

Hiding behind a cover they peek forward only to see a few practitioners lined up down a hall that is covered in ice.

Dai Jinyu stands at the center as he watches one of his underlings take heavy steps forward.

The hall seems to have an insane amount of pressure that weights down on a practitioner causing them to break out with sweat.

"This..."

"There's definitely some kind of treasure up ahead but getting to it will be difficult."

Feng Jian Yun observes this situation with clear eyes.

"We can wait for them to have all tried before charging in to kill them. They'll be tired then anyways."

"...!"

Just as Ye Gui Feng is about to agree to this plan he suddenly clutches his chest as his heartbeat accelerates.

"Get up and drop your weapons!"

From behind the group a dozen more practitioners suddenly showed up. This time it was the members of the Ancient Demon Sect.

"Tch."

Feng Jian Yun stands back up and dropped his sword. Those from the Thousand Ghosts Sect had also noticed the commotion as Dai Jinyu turns around and sees the large crowd behind them.
