An Interesting Story

"*Sigh*"

Ye Gui Feng sighs. He had been dragged back to Yao Nie Tian's pavilion on Mount Zhu Tian by the owner himself.

The poison cloud that covers the upper regions and the peak of the Savage Beast Mountains has been dealt with under the efforts of the clan chief.

"Uncle Nie Tian do you know the kind of pain that Niú Láng (牛郎) and Zhīnǚ (織女) must endure on a yearly basis? They are only allowed to meet once a year for crying out loud. Don't you think that is such a cruel fate for the two lovers?"

Bringing up the story "the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd" again Ye Gui Feng looks up at the ceiling with an expression of melancholy. He only got to spend a bit of time with Xiao Ju Hong.

"Hmph little brat what are you talking about? What Niu Lang? What Zhinu?"

Yao Nie Tian sets down his cup of tea and looks strangely at Ye Gui Feng. Being called uncle at this point of his life makes him feel somewhat strange.

Seeing Yao Nie Tian's reaction to the name of that story proves once again that these stories that Ye Gui Feng had been familiar with from the 21st century is nonexistent here in this world.

"*Sigh* forget it. I pity that girl for having to suffer so much pain from her cultivation."

Yao Nie Tian sighs as well before he changes the topic.

Awkwardly scratching his cheek with a finger Ye Gui Feng sees no point to lie about it since the other side already knows. As someone that has gone through a life cycle he has already learned that it was best to be honest in admitting his mistakes.

"But I really didn't mean to. I used Scented Devil Ladies to draw in the beasts and then the wind carries the scent out. After I saw those beasts gathered I realized too late that the poison will be spread as well... So..."

Ye Gui Feng averts his eyes to the side as he says these words.

"*Sigh* it's fine. At least you're honest. Alright enough about that. How's your cultivation?"

"I managed to get to the 28th level of Qi Condensation and I'm half way there to the 29th. I need to be at the 41st level to stand on equal footing with a Nascent Soul realm practitioner though..."

Flicking a sleeve Yao Nie Tian sends Ye Gui Feng flying out of his home and shuts the door.

Groaning in pain Ye Gui Feng stands up and rub his back that had hit the ground hard.

"Th-This old man... Can't he use some common sense and send people out like normal instead of tossing them out? Ugh."

With a frown and a hunched back Ye Gui Feng limps back to his Immortal Cave. Upon making it back to the entrance of his cave Ye Gui Feng sees Yao Lei Yun standing outside.

"Elder Lei Yun you've got to tell that old man to learn some common sense when sending people out of his doorsteps..."

"Heh you should count yourself lucky that he's taken you in as his adopted son and passing you his knowledge. If it weren't for Patriarch Nie Tian showing up in front of clan chief Xie Xian's doorsteps then the clan chief would have personally come to end you."

"Ah? He was that pissed off?"

"The Evil Blood Princess is his only daughter. He values her more than the entirety of the Yao family. How do you think a father would feel to see his only daughter walking with a boy out in the forest?"

"That..."

It wasn't that Ye Gui Feng couldn't understand Yao Xie Xian's feeling but to use all those deadly means just to end his life...

Ye Gui Feng can't help but feel bitter about all this.

"*Sigh* enough talk. Rest up for today. Here this is for you."

Returning back into his cave Ye Gui Feng checks the jade slip that Yao Lei Yun had given him. It contains the merit points that he had been promised along with a note.

[Be sure to not spend it. These will be your funds to get the materials that you need for tomorrow.]

"That old man knew that I had ran out of spirit stones so he gave me a task to complete as an excuse to give me merit points..."

There would probably be many that will raise a voice of objection if Yao Nie Tian had just readily handed Ye Gui Feng so much merits points on the basis of their supposed father and son relationship.

Thinking about this Ye Gui Feng didn't feel too angry about Yao Nie Tian tossing him out of his doorsteps now.

Within the Yao family 10,000 merit points is quite a lot. Ye Gui Feng would have had even more if not for the fact that the poison cloud made it impossible to grab the beast cores that can be used as a trade in for points.

Without waiting for Yao Xie Xian to speak Xiao Ju Hong turns the other way and starts to leave.

"Wait, wait! My dear daughter where are you going?"

"To find Xieshen."

"My dear daughter just what kind of medicine did he feed you?"

The amount of shock that Yao Xie Xian is currently experiencing cannot be imagined. His own daughter refuses to listen to him. The loss of face and the shame that he is experiencing makes even an immortal like him unable to bear it.

Within Yao Xie Xian's heart there is a raging sea storm of crashing waves. If possible he would love to put Ye Gui Feng in the midst of that sea storm to drown him.
