I'm Not Tasty

"So he has entered the trial grounds?"

"I wonder how he'll do. Considering how he managed to slip pass my attacks when he came up to the mountain he shouldn't do that bad."

"We shall see."

Yao Nie Tian and Yao Lei Yun sat down together in the living room of Mount Zhu Tian's main courtyard building.

On the table is a lavish tea set. These two have been keeping an eye on Ye Gui Feng since his time here in the Yao family. They were quite surprised to see the boy going through the first floor of the archives like a madman.

A magic projection shows Ye Gui Feng appearing within the first trial grounds.

"..."

Ye Gui Feng looks at the trial ground before him with a straight face. He doesn't blink, in fact he shows no emotions at all.

"To cross this sea and get to the other side you must get onto a sea beast and ride through the crowd of other sea beasts as they try to devour you."

"Not only that but they need to be able to control a sea beast as well. I wonder how he'll get through here."

Both Yao Nie Tian and Yao Lei Yun look towards Ye Gui Feng with anticipation.

Ye Gui Feng continues to look at the trial grounds before him for a whole 30 minutes without moving or showing a hint of emotion.

The impression that Ye Gui Feng gives off with his expressionless face is that of a person that's carefully observing the situation to the fullest before making his move.

As this is first time here in the trial grounds Yao Nie Tian and Yao Lei Yun didn't think otherwise as they waited for Ye Gui Feng to prepare himself.

Inwardly Ye Gui Feng...

(I... I-I'm so scared...)

Despite the fact that Ye Gui Feng wants to do all that he can to repay back the Burial Grounds Sect that doesn't mean that he doesn't value his own life.

The trial ground is a sea. Within this sea is a vast number of sea beasts. All of them are capable of swallowing a man whole and every single one of them is at the early stages of Core Formation realm.

Throughout the 30 minutes Ye Gui Feng's observation he has seen a practitioner who had tried to fly up into the air only to be eaten by a massive crocodile like creature that leaped out of the seas.

The sight of this made Ye Gui Feng's scalps turn numb. That practitioner was at the early stage of Core Formation and just like that he was eaten.

In the far distance Ye Gui Feng sees other practitioners balancing themselves on the body of sea beasts.

"..."

Ye Gui Feng looks down at the seas and spots a massive turtle. It has a hexagonal shaped shell and it has a body length of 25 meters.

That massive turtle easily snaps up another sea beast and crunches it a few times before swallowing. The look in its eyes seem to be filled with proudness.

"Forget it. My storage bag has a vast quantity of tools for making a Jiangshi. After spending so much time in the archive what do I have to fear after reading up on so much knowledge? That turtle... I want it!"

Ye Gui Feng finally makes his move as he shoots down towards the giant turtle with his wings fully spread.

Upon Ye Gui Feng landing onto the top of the turtle's shell-

*WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!!!* the turtle angrily roars as its entire body trembles!

"Kuh!"

Just as quickly Ye Gui Feng tries to balance himself on the turtle's shell as he takes out the Sky Serpent Cane and stabs it down onto the shell of the turtle.

But the shell didn't break; in fact the cane didn't even leave a single scratch on it.

"Dammit..."

*Wrawr!!* the turtle extends it neck out as it rears its head towards Ye Gui Feng with its mouth opened wide!

"Y-You want to eat me? No, don't I am not tasty. You'll get bad stomach aches. I'm-"

Ye Gui Feng becomes nervous as he takes a step back but before he can finish speaking the turtle has already taken him into its mouth and closed its jaws.

"H-He..."

"Got eaten?"

Yao Nie Tian and Yao Lei Yun both look on with wide eyes but then...

*WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!!!!!* the turtle roars but this time not in anger.

The beast constantly flails its head around while giving off a loud shriek as if in miserable pain.

From within the turtle's opened mouth dark mist leaks out. Following the appearance of the dark mist Ye Gui Feng emerges from within the mouth of the turtle.

"See? I told you I'm not tasty."

Ye Gui Feng's entire body is covered in baleful ghosts.

"What a powerful Ghostly Spirit Body!"

Yao Lei Yun's eyes open wider than before. He has seen Ye Gui Feng covered up in dark mist upon the boy's arrival to the gates but he didn't think that there would be so many ghosts in possession of Ye Gui Feng's body.

"There must at least be over 1,000 ghosts that are possessing him. It's quite shocking how he isn't driven insane. I wonder what control technique he trains in to rein these ghosts."

*WRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!!!!!!!!!!!* the turtle roars with bloodshot eyes as it extends its neck towards Ye Gui Feng in a fit of rage!

"Uh? It can still withstand that?"

Ye Gui Feng panicky backs away and from behind him a giant stone skinned crocodile leaps out of the seas towards him! Its giant jaws are opened up wide like the mouth of a stapler!

"Ah! Stop! Don't come here!"

*CHOMP!* the mouth of the crocodile snaps to a close with Ye Gui Feng in between.

"...!?"

But upon doing so the crocodile's eyes open wide before it releases a painful roar!

It was as if an explosion went off within the crocodile's mouth as its jaws are forcefully opened to exude with a dense amount of dark mist!

"What's going on?"

"What's up with all the noise at the back?"

It was then that the other trial participants turned to look back behind them.

They saw both the giant turtle and the giant crocodile roaring in pain along with the dark mist that are coming out of their mouths.

"Th-These beasts are far too violent... I've already said that I'm not tasty but they still insist on eating me. I was originally going to make a Jiangshi out of the turtle to take with me but..."

Ye Gui Feng frowns. He somewhat knew that if a sea beast eats him the ghosts that are in possession of his body will erupt. But without knowing if it will work he wasn't willing to gamble on it.

Now that Ye Gui Feng has seen the effects he isn't as afraid of these sea beasts anymore as his eyes turn vicious.

"Hmph you want to eat me? Fine I'll let you eat me."

To the shock of everyone that is looking at him Ye Gui Feng shoots into the mouth of the giant turtle!
