Gabe's POV:
After I talked with Javi and Jesus, I decided to go to the canteen to get some food for Clementine. After I got some blueberry pancakes, I made my way to the infirmary where Clem was.

I opened the door only to find Clementine playing with her collar which is now in her hands and not at her neck.

Clementine's eyes met with mine and she shot a smile at me as I did the same.

"Hey, you feeling better?" I asked as I walked over to her with a plate of blueberry pancakes.

"Yeah, sort of." She replied with a low and raspy tone in her voice.

"You sound manlier than me, I'm actually jealous." I joked as she just chuckled and punched my shoulder lightly.

"How about I strangle you, huh?" She replied as I rolled my eyes playfully and placed the food infront of her.

"How about you eat first, then I'll let you strangle me." I said as I placed my elbows at the side of her bed.

"yeah, sure." She said with a sly smile and she stared eating.

I couldn't help but smile as I watched her eat her breakfast. She's just so... Perfect. Her perfect golden eyes, her brown curly hair, her tan skin, her nose, her perfect lips... Everything about her is just so perfect its simply impossible.

Honestly, how am I so blessed to have this girl infront of me? What did I ever do to deserve her as a friend?

She's just way too good to be true. She's just... Impossible.

Impossible to get.
Impossible to make her fall inlove with someone... Like me.

Fucking hell, if I ever find out that she likes me back, I would literally slap myself so hard just to see if I'm dreaming or not cause that'd be an amazing dream.

"Hey, you okay? You're kind of zoning out." She called out to me.

"You're perfect." I mumbled.

Her eyes widened and she giggled before asking me:
"What?" She said with a goofy grin on her face.

"Oh, what? N-nothing." I said as I looked down at my shoes.

"No, you were saying something... What is it?" She asked again as she took another bite of the pancake.

"Just forget about it... So, how's the ummm-- pancake?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Ummm, its amazing. I haven't eaten one of this before since the outbreak." She said as she took another bite.

"My god, how can a girl as badass as you look so cute just by stuffing a pancake in her mouth." I bursted out as she looked at me and rolled her eyes playfully.

"Don't make me stab you with this fork." She joked as she took one last bite.

"You done?" I asked as she just nodded. I handed her some bottled water and she immediately drank it.

"Now, can you stand up?" I ask as she gave me the bottled water.

"I don't know... I'll try I guess." She said as she took the blanket off of her and placed her feet on the ground.

"I'll be here to catch you, don't worry." I reassured.

"You better catch me, cause if I fucking fall on my face, I'm gonna make sure to kill you tonight." She replied as I just chuckled and helped her get up.

"Careful." I said softly as I held on to her waist and she held on to my shoulder.

She was struggling at first but she eventually got it.

"There you go." I cheered as she just laughed.

"You're such a dork." She joked as she took her hat from the bedside table and wore it.

"Yeah, yeah whatever." I said.

"So... Ummm, your dad was here earlier." She said.

"What? D-Did he hurt you?" I asked.

"No... Actually, he came here to apologise."

I scoffed when she said that.

My dad? Apologising? Wow, when did that ever happen?

"Are you sure its my dad?" I asked.

"Okay now Gabe, don't be a dick." She said as she rolled her eyes.

"I mean... Its my dad Clem. I just can't believe he apolosied."

"Well he did... And after that he-- uhh... He left."

"Where is he now?" I asked then she shrugged.

"I have no idea... All that he said was he was sorry for what happened yesterday, he was leaving Richmond... And he loves you... Your dad loves you Gabe. I know you can't see it, but he does." She explained.

"Well, he has a funny way of showing it then."

"Oh, come on. Don't be an asshole Gabe. Atleast you still got a father that loves you..." She said with her voice fading a bit.

I took a sigh and shook my head once I realized that I was sort of sounding like an asshole.

This girl standing infront of me experienced losing her parents infront of her while I'm here being an asshole with the only dad I have.

"Clem, I'm sorry... I just realized that--"

"That you sound like an asshole?" She said with her arms crossed. I kept my head low as I heard her chuckle and walk closer to me.

"Just like I said before, you don't have to apologise for being an asshole... Its in your blood." She said.

"Clem, I really want to change... I want to change for me, for my dad, for Javi, for Kate and for you... Especially for you... I don't want you walking around with me and let everyone think that I'm just some asshole kid you're gonna protect in this goddamn apocalypse... I really wanna change." I said while stopping the tears thay were about to come out of my eyes.

"Then let me help you... And let me help you by starting it now..." She said as I looked up at her golden eyes that would shine if its filled with hope.

I smiled and nodded.
"Okay... Tell me what to do." I said.
"Well, for starters-- how about you stop being such an asshole for once." She said.

"I'll try..."

"No, say you will. Not try... You will." She said as she held my hands. This just sent shivers down my spine and made my stomach feel warm. I even felt like my blood rushed to my face but I stopped it.

"I will."
