"She looks so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear, and I know now that I'm so down!" Luke sang as I caught him take a glance at me and wink. A couple of girls in front of me thought it had been directed to them and practically fainted. I rolled my eyes.
I wasn't afraid to show that I loved the song. I started dancing my heart out, practically, along with all the other crazy people in this crowd.
"I made a mixed tape straight out of '94, I got your ripped skinny jeans lyin' on the floor!"
I was having a great time rocking out until I accidentally tripped and crashed into someone from behind.
"Oh god, I'm really sorry, I-- Jesse?" Oh god, it was him. My ex boyfriend from years ago... There he was, helping me up.
"Hally!?" he burst, "Is that really you?" he slurred his words over the music. He was drunk as all hell. I didn't even have to hear him talk to know. I could smell it on him.
"Uh, yeah, just enjoying this band," I said as I tried to inch away from him. I did not have time for Jesse to come back into my life. It had taken me so long to get over him, but I finally had at some point last summer. Thanks to Luke.
"Aw, really? I don't think they're that good, are they trying to be punk or something? And what's with that lad's hair?" Ugh. He was so drunk and stupid.
"She looks so perfect standing there," Luke sang the bridge of the song as I could feel him eyeing me.
"You know what, I've missed you," Jesse went on.
"That's great," I said trying to distance myself from him again, but he had moved even closer and was all up in my face.
"You're really hot, Hally," he sang over the music.
I looked up at Luke who was shooting me panicked looks. "Look, Jesse, I--" but I was cut off by his lips. He was kissing me. I tried to push him away, but he was too strong and unaware from his drunkeness. I was struggling.
"Get off of her!! Stop!" Luke's voice rang through each and every speaker. The rest of the boys stopped playing the song as the crowd stopped singing along. Everyone looked around, mortified.
