"And so we're in the middle of the store, right? And Ashton is so mad he just pulls my pants down!" Calum goes on about the story of how he got a cute check out girl's number before Ashton the other day. We were all sitting at a table drinking our smoothies.

"Well, I totally saw her first and Calum just butts right in and asks for her number!" Ashton defended childishly.

"So you pulled his pants down?" I raised an eyebrow and sipped on my smoothie.

"Ashton's weird," Michael chuckled scrunching up his nose.

"But guess who's got a date tomorrow night?" Calum bragged and Ashton groaned.

"Okay, tell me. Exactly how hot was this girl?" Micheal asked squinting at the two who were sitting across from us in the booth slurping rather loudly at their smoothies.

Calum smirked, "Like okay, she was the perfect mixture of Megan Fox and Katy Perry."

Michael's eyes widened, "Whoah."

"Yeah 'whoah,'" Ashton scoffed and I rolled my eyes.

"You guys are so lame!" I giggled. "I mean, damn... Do you only ever talk about girls?"

"Well, we usually only talk about one girl when we're all together," Michael said.

"Huh?" I cocked my head.

"You," Ashton told me. "Whenever Luke is with us all we ever hear about is Hal this, Hal that. He's always talking about you."

"Yeah," Calum nodded in agreement.

"Speaking of Luke..." Michael began while staring at his phone he had just pulled out of his pocket, "he's calling me right now."

"What!?" I hovered over Mikey's phone screen. Sure enough Luke was calling.

"I'm gonna answer," Michael said to me in a sympathetic tone. I knew he knew that I was trying to forget him at the moment and this defiantly wasn't going to help. But I didn't blame him for wanting to talk to him. He and the boys had been trying to get ahold of him for weeks now.

"Luke!" Michael screamed through the phone as Calum and Ashton leaned in closer across the table paying close attention. "Where have you been, you fucker!? We've been calling you for like, weeks and you haven't said shit to us. You missed like three band practices, dude. And do you think those went well without the lead singer?" He paused and listened for a while. "Why?" He asked. "Oh," he said after a couple more seconds. "Seriously?" He went on. What the hell were they talking about!?

"Dude, what's he saying?" Ashton whispered in concern, but Michael held up his finger at him and continued to listen to whatever Luke was saying.

"...Yeah, we're just at that smoothie place we always go to," Michael finally spoke again and my heart stopped. I couldn't stand to be here if Luke decided to show up. "...Yeah, she's here..." He continued uncomfortably, taking a quick, nervous glance at me. "....Dude, c'mon you're being ridiculo- ...Hello...? Hemmings...? Fuck, he hung up!" Michael pounded his fist on the table. Calum and Ashton exchanged worried glances.

"What was that all about?" Calum asked cautiously and Mikey shook his head.

"Nothing he's just... being Luke," he sighed.

"Well, what did he say?" Ashton urged but Michael shook his head like he didn't want to say anything in front of me. Fine. If that's how Luke wanted to be then he could go ahead and be that way. If he wanted to break every single promise he made to me then he could go ahead and rip my heart out.

Believe me, it hurt like hell but there was nothing I could do about it.

"So, anyways..." Michael boomed in an attempt to change the subject, "Is everyone about finished with their smoothies? I think we should get Hal home now to see her mom."

I nodded, "You dorks completely made me forget about that. I better get going."

"I'll drive her back," Michael went on and Calum and Ashton agreed. We had taken two separate cars here due to the fact they had driven separately to the graduation, too.

"Okay, I'll take the van back to Calum's. Maybe Luke'll actually decide to show up to band practice tonight," said Ashton which only reminded me that I probably couldn't continue to be friends with the three if Luke was going to be united with the band again.

"Okay, see you guys!" Michael pulled his keys out of his pocket as we all exited the booth leaving our empty smoothie cups behind.

It had been a nice afternoon with the three but I knew it would probably never be able to happen again. That made me sad.

I followed Mikey out the door to his car he had parked under a tree. I opened the door to his red vehicle to get in but Michael stopped me by casting a hand on my shoulder. "Haleigha..." He said.

"Yeah?" I turned around to face him in his black Jack Daniels shirt and jeans he had changed into from his graduation gown.

"Hey," he spoke shyly, "I know lately Luke has been treating you like shit. And I just don't think he's good for you anymore."

I laughed, "Yeah, I kind of figured that out while suffering through this fifth breakup."

"So, you think you guys are done for good?" He asked and I nodded slowly. Why was he asking me this? None of the boys had ever taken much interest in Luke and I's relationship before.

"Good, because I can't stand seeing you continuously getting hurt by him," Michael murmured walking closer to me and backing me up against his car.

"Well, actually I've probably hurt him more times than he's hur-"

"I like you, Haleigha," he cut me off. "A lot. And I think I would be so much better for you than him." My eyes widened at this new information. Michael had always been just a friend to me that I had only ever got to talking to because he was in Luke's band. Sure I had had a teeny crush on him at some point while I was just friends with Luke, but I had had crushes on Ashton and Calum, too and they had only lasted about a week tops. Because in the end, it had always been Luke.

I gulped and forced a smile, "Mikey, that's sweet, bu-" But I was cut off again by his lips crashing into mine. They were soft and warm and so much different from Luke's. My own lips slightly parted, inviting his tongue in my mouth. I was shocked at my own actions because I wasn't pushing him away when I should be.

Just then a screeching sound of a car hitting its breaks from pulling into the parking lot too fast filled my ears. The awful sound came closer which made Mikey pull his lips away and snap his head in the direction of the noise.

The car came to a screeching halt directly behind Michael. It parked horribly diagonal in the empty parking spots next to his car, taking up two spots. That's when I noticed it was Luke's car.

"Fuck," Michael spat under his breath backing away from me slowly. Luke exited the car with a furious look on his face and slammed the door behind him hard. His eyes were bloodshot and full of anger as he stormed towards Micheal who had a look of complete terror plastered on his face.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing!?" He said pinning Michael up against the car.

"Luke," Michael shook. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I said... what the fuck do you think you're doing?!" Luke repeated in an even more furious tone as he tightly grabbed the collar of Michael's shirt and pulled him towards him. I had never during our entire friendship seen this side of Luke, and I began to shake because I definitely did not like this side of him.

Every member of 5 Seconds of Summer was extremely muscular and strong. But Luke was by far the strongest, tallest, and most threatening member I began to realize as he had Michael locked tightly in his grip agaisnt the car awaiting his answer that not even I knew.
