Nobody mentioned the whole situation of "us" until we were at Hal's locker getting her school books. And it was Michael.

I knew the boys were still pretty pissed at me for the whole thing last night. I didn't expect them to even acknowledge my existence today, but Mikey did.

"You little fucks, I knew there was something going on between you two," he leaned casually up against the wall.

"Shut up," Hal laughed.

"I thought you hated me," I straight out said.

He shook his head. "Temporarily I did," he shrugged. "I'm over it. We're a chill band. We'll find new places to perform."

"What about--"

"Ashton is probably still a little sad, but I do know for a fact Calum is still pretty pissed about it."

I looked down, "Tell them I'm sorry."

Mikey patted my shoulder, "Will do, Hemmings. Oh and, you guys are..." He scrunched up his nose, "cute."

Hal giggled as she closed her locker and leaned in to kiss me. She sighed. "So, what do we do now, Luke? Date? You're a future rockstar and I'm your cool, punk girlfriend? Is that how it's gonna be?"

I breathed out heavily, "Well, I wouldn't want it any other way, Haleigha."

She smiled but it faded as she spoke, "This is our last year. It's April, Luke. I'm going to college after summer... away."

"Babe," I kissed her again. "Can we please not talk about this here?"

"I'm sorry, Luke. I just can't stop thinking about it... all of a sudden."

I shook my head, not knowing how to respond. "It's us, Hal..."

She raised a pierced eyebrow, "And what does that mean?"

"It means we'll make the most of it. It means we'll do everything we can. It means we won't break promises." A smile began to form at the corners of her lips again which only made me smile, too. She started to put her locker combo back in quickly. "Did you forget something?" I asked as she swung it open.

"No," she placed her chemistry books back in her locker. "No, I was thinking. And I want to take you somewhere instead of go to class, I think."

I chuckled, "Where?"

"I don't know, maybe the beach?"

I shook my head. "Good one," I told her.

"No, really. Let's get out of here for now. I don't feel like schooling today. I probably will tomorrow and for the rest of the school year, so let's just have a day." I was taken back her sudden willingness. Then again, it was Hal. I've never known a girl who goes off of impulses like she does. I hoped I never would because there was no one else who could pull it off.

"So, the beach?" I asked as we walked down the hall.

"I really don't know, just somewhere with you. Maybe the park or a café, I'm not sure. I'm making up for lost time."

"I really don't think you need to, Hal," I said.

"Why?" She cocked her head.

"I'm not going anywhere," I kissed her as we walked out the busy school doors to go to the beach or the park or café or whatever.
