* Honestly impressive when done right. At least make that process interesting. I dread "kit" chapters because they are just so agonizingly slow and all feel the exact same. I personally would recommend starting books with the kit MC just before/becoming an apprentice. Of course, this is only if nothing crucial happens in their kit lives. Because kit chapters can usually just be setting up their mother to die or teasing future relationships.
Anyways, ascension to power stories are neat and challenging to pull off well.
