Yes, cats have tear ducts, but only have tears when they're sick or have something in their eye.
* OK, I don't care about realism. Let your cats cry and laugh. "Mrow in amusement" is a bit of a mouthful. "Yowling in sadness" is kind of funny. That being said, cats blushing is a little bit much, with all the fur and such. Have them express embarrassment or affection in other ways. If the MC "blushes", just have them flush under their pelt or something.
