The MC is either absolutely adored by everybody or despised by everybody.
* Eh. It all depends on how you handle it. A fall from grace story where an MC goes from adored to despised can be interesting. And we always like an underdog story where the MC proves everyone wrong. It just can be repetitive. A hated MC only being liked by their mother and their future love interest is kind of boring. A trope like this isn't black and white.
