The MC kills the villain.
Why can't, like, an eagle carry the villain away or get squashed by a fallen branch.

* Disagree for the fact that that would be anticlimactic as shit.
For some reason, the first thing that comes to mind is Lion King 2. Zira the villain refuses to be saved by the protagonist, and lets herself fall to her death. Her refusal to change and her hatred was the reason she died, and so her death was poetic and is opposite to the protagonists' beliefs. There's an example of a climactic death not directly caused by the MC.
However, if the villain just like, trips and snaps their neck. And there's nothing else about their beliefs or personality or anything then. That's just bad. You wrote a bad, bad, horrible death for a villain.
