Cats dying without any development at all, or just too unnaturally quickly.
* This is heavily dependent on which character is dying and why. Take the first arc where Redtail dies - his death isn't sad because we literally have no idea who he is. However, his fast death is important. It establishes that Clan society can be brutal, that he was in an important position, and to set up the gravity of Tigerclaw's betrayal. Redtail's death wasn't important for Redtail, it was important for setting up the world and narrative.
If you want cats to die early with little development, don't expect readers to feel too tragic over it. Let it spur the plot into motion or set the atmosphere of your story.
