A month later..

I have been visiting Ava everyday since I found out she was in a coma, even after football practices after school.

Sadly she still hasn't woken up and that's breaking her mom, I was a little bit more confident that she would wake up in the beginning of her coma, but I've lost some hope at this point.

Sometimes I watched the heart monitor to see if the lines would slow down or if it would start going faster but it never did, the lines just stayed the same.

Ash and I have gotten closer but Aiden was still not someone I would even consider being close with, the way he talked about Ava as if she didn't matter, got me ready to beat the shit out of him.

Today was Friday, the boys and I were getting ready to go out on the field for our second game of the year.

Hopefully my mom and dad don't embarrass me like they did last time, all I kept hearing was my name being screamed out multiple of times throughout the whole game.

We made our way to the field and the game started, all that was rushing through my mind was to focus on the game but my mind would wonder right back to Ava, the football gets passed to me and I passed it to Ash, who scored us a point.

*

It's now half time and the boys and I were making up a quick plan to win the game, the other team was extremely good on the field than the other team we played last time.

"Maybe we should try to catch them off guard, they know how we move now, why don't we change it up." I said.

Everyone looked at me with wide eyes as if I just saved the world.

"That's brilliant, okay everyone move the other way." Coach said, ecstatically.

We continued to make up other ideas for our plan.

*

Halftime was finally over and we were now back in the game, we used the skills and the plan we made and as expected we caught the opposite team off guard.

*

The game continued and the opposite team were catching up pretty quickly, the time was almost over and we were still ahead. Ash ran with the ball and hit a touch down.

We all jumped up on him, excited that we won and gave the other team members handshakes, which was required for us to do after every game.

I walked up to my parents in the parking lot, which was extremely packed.

"You did it again, son!" My dad said giving me a pat on the shoulder.

"I'm so proud of you." My mom said, tearing up as she squeezed me into a tight hug.

"Haha yeah." I said trying to squirm my way out of my mom's bone crushing hug.

"We have to celebrate, tonight! How about we go to red lobster?" My dad said excitedly, he loves red lobster and we haven't really been there in a while.

"Sure, let's go." I said, approvingly.

"I love you Masey but you need to take a shower and change, before we go." My mom said pinching my cheeks.
