Ava's pov

I began to feel someone shaking me repeatedly.

"Honey, wake up." My mom whispered.

"Leave me alone." I mumbled into my pillow, while bringing my blanket over my body as if it would protect me from her.

"It's about 3pm, You've slept all day." My mom complained.

I woke up, deciding that she wouldn't let me sleep in peace.

"I have nothing to do today, why do I have to wake up?" I asked with a frown.

"I have to go back to work today and I don't want you being home alone, so I called Mason to ask if you guys can hang out." My mom said calmly as if she just didn't ruin my day.

"Why!? How do you even have his number!?" This was honestly not how I imagined my day to go.

"From Melissa, I wanted her to hangout with you but she's working today, so she suggested Mason."

"I can handle being home alone, mom."

"No, you can't, Its going to take a lot for me to trust you being home alone again, Ava." My mom said in a disappointing tone, referring to my suicide attempt, I thought she wouldn't make a big deal out of it or bring it up, since I seemed fine at the moment but I guess I jinxed it.

"Sorry." I mumbled looking at the floor.

"Why did you do it for?" My mom asked sadly.

"I don't know..I wasn't thinking I'm sorry." I lied trying to not worry her about it, my mom already worked a lot and most of the time she was stressed over something, I don't want to be more of a burden.

"Just please don't ever do that again, you can always talk to me you know." She said with a small smile.

"I know, I love you."

She pulled me into her arms and gave me a tight squeeze.

"I love you even more." She said, pecking my forehead.

"Now I have to go to work, Mason will be here in 10 minutes to take you somewhere, so clean yourself up." She said, giving me a wink.

"It's not even like that." I said getting annoyed.

"Sure it's not." She said with a smirk while leaving my room.

I rushed into my bathroom brushing my teeth and took a shower as fast as I could manage, I fixed my hair, which came out looking wavy.

I decided to wear a long jean jacket that Mason bought for me, which I have to admit was my favorite, I wore my favorite black ripped jeans with my white converse.

I got a text from an unknown number.

Unknown number: Hey
Me: who's this?
Unknown number: Mason 😉
Me: how did you get my number?
Mason: your mom. I'm outside, come out.
Me: I'm omw.

I tucked my phone in my back pocket, while making sure I sprayed my favorite vanilla body spray on quickly.

I walked out of my room in a hurry and ran down the stairs, I opened the door to see Mason leaning on the passenger door with his arms crossed looking at the ground.
