Chapter 24

--Next morning at Ditchwood--

"So Alex and you had a moment I assume...?" Maya asks, walking with me to Spanish.

I blush while scratching my arm. "Ya.."

"Ooh," Maya coos. "Spill."

"Well, Alex asked what his girl friend wanted for her birthday," I say, still blushing.

"Why're you blushing?! What if this girl isn't just a friend?!" Maya asks, getting the attention of the hall monitors.

I laugh and give her a look.

"Ohh, you're--ok," Maya nods.

"Yup. But I still cant believe he doesn't know what I want," I scoff.

"Aw, hopefully Fate will do something for Alex to get you the perfect gift," Maya awes.

"..I just want to do a cover with him," I say, looking down to the ground.

"Maybe he'll give something even better," Maya assures me.

"..maybe. But its been my dream to do a cover with him," I give her a frown.

Maya hugs me. "I'm sure Alex will still make your birthday great."

We release from the hug. "Hopefully."

"But am I invited..?" Maya asks the STUPIDEST QUESTION. (A/N: I tried ;)

"No, of course not. You're my best friend, and I'm not inviting you to my party," I sarcastically say, crossing my arms.

Maya laughs. "Sorry, I'm slow."

"It's fine," I tell her, holding the door for her.

"Mind telling me why you girls are late?" Ms. Smith asks, greeting us at our desks.

I turn to see Ava mouthing, "Hank."

*Maya's POV*

Fate's gonna do the talking. I cant wait that long. I need Salex drama now!

"Maya, you ok?" Sara asks, looking at me weirded out.

"Ya," I assure her.

"I have a feeling you have something extra SPECIAL for my birthday," Sara assumes.

"Yup," I murmur.

"Oh gosh," I can hear Sara mumble.

You have no idea what's coming up.

*Alex's POV*

BUZZ--

"Who you texting now, Aiono?" A guy from the back tries to make  pun.

I roll my eyes to see a message from..MAYA? I'm not even gonna ask.

Unknown: its Maya & u need to surprise Sara

Me: her birthday is in 2 weeks

Unknown: listen, she wants nothing but to do a cover/mashup w/ u

Me: then why'd she never asked?

Unknown: she thought it was dumb

Me: aw well don't worry I'll make Sara's 18 the best

Unknown: u better

I got everything planned...a nice moonlight picnic with a cake, sushi, and I lay her my new song..followed by a mashup--or live cover. This is gonna be nice birthday celebration.
