Chapter 36: Sara's Birthday Party, Part 3

*Sara's POV*

Well it's nice not hearing "My Salex Hart." 

Alex hands me a knife, I take it. I was close to cutting the cake.

I pause. I can't.

"What's wrong?" Alex asks.

I drop the knife on the table. "I can't. I have to talk to Diamond."

"Sara, c'mon. Just talk to her after--" Alex tries to convince me, but I was already walking out to the pool, to see Diamond and Connor talking.

*Diamond's POV*

Sara and Alex belong together. I knew Alex and I were better off as just good friends. Maybe Connor and I...

"Seriously, Empty Cup is the worst, I'm being honest with you, Di," Connor explains, jokingly.

"Uh huh, and that song--I forget--with Cash Cash was better?" I giggle.

Connor giggles. "We've been at this for the past 5 minutes."

"That means Alex and Sara have been throwing cake at each other for the past 5 minutes," I joke.

"Hey," Connor cups my face.

There was a silence. 

"Connor."

"Diamond," Connor says, then he kisses me.

I break off the kiss," Why'd you do that?"

"I know we just met a few days ago, but I like you," Connor confesses.

"Connor--" He cuts me off.

"Alex said so himself, that you deserve better than him. Maybe he was talking about me..?" Connor suggests.

I smile at him," One date."

"I'll take that chance," we link arms.

"Hey, love birds. Care to re-join my party?" Sara asks from behind.

We turn around," You were here?" We chorus.

"I ship Diamonnor!" Sara shouts.

Connor and I exchange giggles and walk in to the clubhouse.

"They're back!" Sara happily announces to the guests.

"So does that mean Diamonnor is endgame?" Maya asks.

"One date, but hopefully," Sara answers Maya's question.

"So, Diamond," Alex gets my attention. 

I look at Alex. 

"Are we good?" Alex asks.

"Good friends," I smile at him.

He smiles back.

"So does that mean we're gonna cut the cake now?" Peyton chimes in.

"Yes, honey," Sabrina brushes her hand on his arm.

And of course Peybrina gets the end scene until the cake scene.

"Wait where's Meg?" I ask the unasked question.

"I don't know--" Maya gets cut off my her phone. She looks at her phone," Meg says," Michael just texted about meeting up, but Happy birthday, Sara from us. Didn't want to interrupt the drama. But have a good one ;-)"

"Wow, and she did it from text," Sara giggles.

"These puns are getting old," Alex rolls his eyes and laughs.
