Hmm...How to start my story? It would be right to start from the beginning, but I don't know where it is, this beginning.

And just like anyone else, I do not know the true causes of events occurring in my life. Maybe it was really because of fate or the universe was just bored and wanted to entertain itself. Nevertheless, it was time—

"Have you been thinking about what you did?" The police officer asked in a stern and annoyingly fatherly manner, completely destroying my dramatic preface.

He handed me back a bag with my belongings, containing my phone, wallet, my keys and other important stuff, such as my fake gun.

Yeah, that one was important, you'll see.

"I have."

"I hope this will be a lesson for you."

"Yes it will." I said in a stern and completely serious manner.

"If you show up in here in the next seventy two hours, you're gonna have to move into that cell for a bit longer than twelve hours next time." He informed me in advance, a frown crossing his face.

"I'll make sure not to get caught next time." I assured him, completely serious.

He sighed heavily, probably thinking that a conversation with a wall would've been more effective...but what can I say? In my case, it would have been.

"Then at least don't hurt our men. They are just doing their job." Shaking his head in disbelief, he then added: "Men that don't fear gunshots fear you."

"They are wise men, they know where the real danger lies and besides, it wouldn't be fun. One black eye here and there won't kill them."

He instantly narrowed his eyes at me, clearly disapproving with my opinion. "I'm gonna pretend I haven't heard that."

"Okay, Jimmy." I patted his shoulder, smirking at him as I added: "Say hi to your wife from me, will you? I haven't been home for a couple of weeks now and I kind of miss Grace."

Rolling his eyes in annoyance, he gritted out: "Just leave already. I know you like it here but this place doesn't like you."

I scoffed in return, pretending to be hurt by his words.
