Abigail sighed. Magda had given Sara and Abigail the nod. They guided Lokeyia and Magda up. When they found their footing, they were gasping by didn't collapse on the floor.
“We’d better do it now. Jade is very anxious.” Lokeyia gasped.
“Well there is one little problem. If we descend, then I think the Meropians' plan is to hover above while we're below the treeline to stop us from rising. Then they will come down on us and capture us.” Abigail inquired.
“It's a risk we must take. We can't leave our weapons and horses.” Lokeyia said. Magda and Sara nodded.
“Well, all right. I don't know how to descend on a helicopter, but it's sure not easy.” Abigail sighed. She ran to the cockpit.
Descending was hard. Even with Sara’s help, who has seen a professional pilot drive one before. Lokeyia and Magda had gone into a chant about ‘Abbie the Pilot’. It annoyed Abigail, she hated the abbreviation Abby or Abbie. She liked Gail or just Abigail.
They landed on ground. Abigail was overjoyed to see Noctus and coaxed him into going into the helicopter. Luckily it was large and there was just enough room for the four girls, the three horses and their packs.
Sara hugged Noctus. Magda combed Mervis’s body and shook of the dirt on him. Lokeyia stroked Jade’s mane. Abigail smiled. They were four friends, together. Maybe not forever, but they had survived this long. Abigail looked at her friends, and the helicopter rose once again into the setting sky.
