I think Tom was in shock for a second because he did nothing but once that second was over, he put his arms around me and kissed me back gently. He didn't try to deepen the kiss or get passionate, he was being true to his word and letting things go at my pace which was good.
I pulled away after what seemed like a few minutes and ended up locking eyes with Tom and could clearly see his signature smirk on his face but it wasn't like any of his previous smirks. It was a happy smirk like he'd finally gotten what he always wanted not a cocky smirk. Those smirks are annoying and have been rare since Tom has changed his ways towards me which I am glad about.
We ended up heading back to the bench to sit back down but this time we held hands. Everything just seemed to have fallen in place. I didn't have to do anything after making that first step. Let's hope I made the right choice and have no future regrets but right now, in this moment. I am happy.
