That night was definitely important, Though it might not seem like they did much but they were working in overdrive. Even Dan with his jet lag is doing a lot of work. They were sat in their study together, mostly being cuddly but still reading through every email he had in his inbox, even though Half of them were spam, but they play a game together when they get funny ones
"Hmmm very important email here, says I can join this website and film porn. HMMMM" Dan exclaims, laughing at the stupid email. Phil giggles
"right and you want to do that?"
"maybe who knows, if this acting thing doesn't work out" dan jokes, clicking to the next.
"Dear Daniel Howell, oh wow how professional"
"you're gonna need to get that changed soon"
"yeah I know" dan smiles softly.
"We are from the west end company, oh wow why are they emailing me? Maybe I left something at one of the venues? And it's definitely them it's their head office email.." Dan wonders. Phil shuffles closer to read with him.
"We saw your performance in the Addams Family Musical and how passionate you looked about acting, and considering that that was your first west end musical we want to push you into the big league if you're up for it. Wait what?" Dan asks, reading over that sentence again. Phil smiles at the thought
"pfft push you into the big league. It's not like West End Company is small, thats the British version of broadway" Phil points out and dan laughs
"We would love to give you the chance of a lifetime by sending yourself and your partner Phil Lester to New York City to meet the cast OF DEAR EVAN HANSEN" Dan and Phils eyes widen
"AS YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE TOP 3 ACTORS TO PLAY EVAN HANSEN IN THE UK PRODUCTION. PHIL!" Dan starts squealing. Phil is stunned
"DAN YOU MIGHT BE EVAN HANSEN!" Phil squeals too, he wraps his arms around dan and they're both laughing and nearly crying
"Thanks to a tip off from Lucy Port Your stage manager from The Addams Family, she came to us and said you would be perfect. If you want to decline please let us know and we will let you know. But, if you do wish to continue we have 2 return flights to NYC with accommodation waiting for you, free of charge, thanks to the W.E Company. And even if you don't get the part of Evan Hansen, you will be cast as another character in the show, as you are Top 3 best choices" dan reads excitedly.
"So do you want to do it? Play as Evan Hansen?" Phil grins, kissing dans cheek
"OH MY GOD YES!" Dan squeals again, kissing Phil properly and smiling.
"Another long flight then. Did you want me to come?
"of course I do! Why would I say no! WE GET TO MEET BEN PLATT, THE GUY THAT MADE US FALL IN LOVE.. technically.." Dan exclaims and Phil starts laughing
"I'll have to let head office know i'll be going on this trip, I might even get a excuse to visit the NYC head office" Phil says, hugging dan tightly.
"When you get to New York, you will be taken to your hotel and will have a day to yourselves but that night you and the 2 others rolled for the part will see Dear Evan Hansen live. then the next day you will have your auditions in front of the U.S Cast, and they will decide the part of Evan Hansen. Good luck, Daniel and please call me at the office ASAP! - Sharon B. Windsor. I HAVE TO PERFORM IN FRONT OF THE CAST? OH GOD" dan reads, shaking a little
"you'll do great honey, you're one of the best actors in the west end. This will change your career for the better and I'm sure they'll love you no matter what" Phil supports dan, kissing his cheek once more. Dan looks into phils eyes for support and he delivers.
"okay" he breathes in.
"i'll call them now" dan says, pulling out his phone and swiping to contacts, pulling up W.E.C and calling their head office and it rings
"West End Company UK, this is Emily at front desk, how can I help you today?"
"Hi could I please talk to Sharon Windsor Please?"
"alright could I please get your name?" she asks politely
"Daniel Howell"
"Alright please hold" She says cheerfully. Some popular song plays on the hold line, dan looking at Phil, he holds his spare hand and re assures him
"Hello Daniel! How are you! How was your flight back from Singapore?" Sharon Asks, he and Sharon know each other as she's been trying to get dan more gigs.
"yeah I'm good and the flight was good too!" Dan replies.
"so, i'm guessing you're calling about the email I sent you?" She asks,
"Yes I am how did you know?" Dan jokes and she laughs
"I have magic powers" she jokes
"So, Have you decided?"
"yes I have and i'd like to accept the offer" dan says
"Brilliant!this is a great opportunity Daniel. Alright I don't want to make you come into the office on your first weekend back so I'll post the flights to you by mail. But i'll have to just confirm dates with you so we know you can make the flights"
"of course"
"So today is the second of June and the flight is the 9th of June so you have about a week to pack is that alright?"
"uhh, Phil the flight is on the 9th, is that okay?"
"this month?" Phil asks
"yes"
"yeah thats fine" Phil smiles back.
"It's a good date yes" dan replies to Sharon
"alright great! So your audition in front of Ben Platt, Mike Faist and Will Roland will be on the 12th"
"oh so I get to see the live show for my birthday!" Dan realises
"ah how great is that! If I don't talk to you before you leave, Happy Birthday in Advance" she wishes him. Dan smiles
"thank you very much!"
"so the auditioning will be 3 days long, I know it sounds bad but first day you script read, Day two you Sing one of the songs of your choice and day three you get to be dressed in Evans outfit and do it with the same scene with the original cast to see how fit I suppose. Then you get 2 days to yourself and by the end of day 2 it should be announced back at the theatre. You leave on the 18th as you get an extra day to spend before you leave"
"That sounds great" dan replies, writing down the arrangement on a notebook.
"Oh and you're flying Double business Class"
"I know what business is but whats double business?"
"so you and Phil sit together in the middle, so you wont be away from each other. its almost like a bed. British airways is the best for that." she explains
"ah wow thats amazing! Thank you so much Sharon!" Dan thanks her and she laughs
"no problem Daniel. Did you have any other questions about this trip?" She asks, dan thinks.
"Oh, whats accomodation in New York?" Dan asks. She hums and tarts typing.
"Oh! It's The Dominik Hotel, pretty classy hotel eh?" She jokes and dan laughs
"you're the best, thank you so so much Sharon and please tell Lucy I'm so grateful she brought me up for the picking"
"will do, have a great night!" She says
"you too!" Dan says and they hang up. Dan lays back in his chair and laughs, nearly crying
"This is almost as great as my birthday present to you" Phil jokes, rolling over to him and pulling him into his lap and holding him tight
"hmmm whats my birthday present?" Dan asks
"me" phil jokes and dan laughs
"true nothing can beat your greatness. Best present ever" dan smiles, moving his head up and pressing a kiss on his lips.
