When we got to the restaurant, we were the first ones there. A waitress brought us to our table, and I looked around in awe. It was a high-end place decorated with champagne velvet and gold.
Vincent grabbed my hand and smiled. He gave me a supporting squeeze calming my nerves a bit more.
Just looking at his handsome face always calmed me. His eyes were always bright and expressive and his hair always silky smooth. He was just gorgeous, always.
When he caught me looking, he gave me a goofy smile.
"What?"
He asked staring at me causing a smile to come to face.
"I'm just thinking about how lucky I am to have such a sweet and handsome mate."
I said causing his cheeks to tint a bit red. He leaned forward and pecked me on the lips.
"If anyone is lucky it is me, you traveled all that way to come find me, got caught in the storm, and still came back after an un-warm welcoming. You always tried for this relationship and I couldn't be anymore happier you care so much about me and us."
He said staring sincerely into my eyes. I smiled and caressed his cheeks, happy when he nuzzled in.
We were interrupted by two loud squeals and little bodies jumping into Vincent's back.
"VINNIE! VINNIE! MISSED YOU! WE MISSED YOU!"
Two little voices yelled causing Vincent to laugh loudly. He managed to grab the culprits and put them in his lap. He kissed them all over their faces causing them to laugh and shriek.
I smiled at the scene a warmth filling my chest at the thought of that being our children. My mate seemed like he would be an excellent father. He turned the two little boys around to face me.
"Lucas, Louis, I want you to meet someone who is incredibly special to me. This is my mate Aquarius, he's been extremely excited to meet the both of you, now say hi."
The two boys looked up at me. They were identical with black hair and big hazel eyes. They gave me toothy smiles and I waved at them.
"Hi boys, I've heard a lot about you from your big brother!"
I said smiling. They giggled and turned right back around to Vincent, telling him about all the stuff they did on their trip.
Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I turned to see a boy and girl. The boy was about my height and had brown hair and blue eyes. He was tiny and gave me a timid smile. The girl on the other hand was a few inches shorter than my mate but still very tall. She had black hair and hazel eyes. She squealed when she saw me and pulled me up and straight into her, if I might add, large chest.
"You're just adorable!"
She said and squeezed me tight, causing me to wince and chuckle.
"Veronica! You're suffocating the poor boy with your melons!"
The short boy said pushing her away. She frowned and scoffed.
He put out a hand and smiled at me, more confident this time.
"Hi I'm Victor. This she hulk is Veronica."
I smiled and shook his hand
"Aquarius, Vincent has told me a lot about you both."
I said shyly making them both grin at me.
"All good things- I hope!"
Veronica said taking a side look at Vincent who was watching us with a big smile.
"Where's my pup?!"
A deep voice rang through the small room. An exceptionally large man and an exceedingly small man walked through the doors, as soon as you saw them you could immediately tell that this was their family. Their kids all looked exactly like them.
Vincent put the twins on the floor and stood up, going to give the large man a hug and the smaller one a kiss on the cheek.
"Mama, dad, this is my mate, Aquarius!"
He said pulling me to him. I shyly smiled at them and waved.
"Hello, nice to meet the both of you."
I said shaking their hands. Vincent's mother gave a big squeal and grabbed my cheeks in his small hands.
"You're just adorable!"
He said making me wince and smile at the same time. Vincent's dad chuckled and pulled his mate back.
"Call us Ben and Michael."
He said giving me a smile, which I returned happily. We all sat down at the table and ate like one big family. I explained to them how life under worked and they all listened with fascination.
"Mama! Papa! Can we go to beach with Rius soon?"
One of the twins asked making me smile. It felt good to know that they liked me. Their mom, Ben, chuckled and nodded.
"Why don't we all go on a family trip to the beach soon? I haven't been there in a while."
Ben said making us all nod in agreement. We all chit chatted and enjoy our food, not really talking about anything, so when the atmosphere got heavy and Michael cleared his throat, I was incredibly nervous.
"Well, while your mother and me were away at the pack across the country some genuinely concerning news was brought to our attention. A group of hunters has been taking out covens of witches and even a small pack. The reason we went over to the meeting was to discuss the concern that our pack was to be hit next. From here on out we will be on high alert, extra patrol and training will be required as well. The survivors of the pack, which are about 70 members will be coming to live here in this pack."
Michael finished making all of us gasp in shock. I did not know humans hunted werewolves. My mate cleared his throat and spoke up
"Why do they feel like we are the next targets? Was there any indication?"
He said. His father nodded.
"In the remains of a fallen hunter, a notebook was found. Pack names were crossed off or checked off. Our name was the only one without any checks or crosses, so it's thought to be our turn."
He said. My mate nodded.
"Just stay on high alert and traveling only happens in groups now, an announcement will be made to the pack tomorrow."
He said getting nods from everyone. I let out a deep breath feeling a lot of pressure on my shoulders now.
I was soon to become Luna, and all this was happening. Would I be able to handle it?
I looked across as my mate and felt myself calm down and my resolve strengthen.
