Request: Alex helping reader through a panic attack?
Your heart raced.
You could barely breathe.
Your whole body felt numb.
"I- I have to go," you muttered, quickly exiting the bullpen.
"Y/N?" Alex said worried and following after you.
You stumbled down an empty hallway, not being able to move any further so you took a seat on a lone bench.
"Y/N?" Alex said again as she approached you.
"Please... please go away Alex," you stammered.
"Y/N, what's going on," she said with concern as she kneeled down in front of you.
"It's just- it's just a panic attack."
"I'll go get J'onn," Alex stated but you grabbed her hand.
"Alex please don't, I'll be fine I just need a minute," you told her.
She moved to sit next to you, "whatever you need, I'm right here," she said starting to rub gentle circles on your back.
The act helped you calm down slightly but your heart still felt like it was about to burst out of your chest.
"Take deep breaths Y/N," Alex said and you did as you were told.
After a few minutes of deep breathing you felt the air come back to your lungs and your heartrate return to normal.
"Are you alright?" she questioned.
"Yeah I'm alright," you nodded.
"Do you get panic attacks alot?"
"Not often, but when I do they kind of hit hard," you explained.
"Well if you ever need anything you can always come to me," she smiled.
"Thank you Alex," you said hugging her, "I'm sorry, I guess it wasn't very professional of me to run out like that."
"You don't need to apologize Y/N, they'll understand."
"Thanks again Alex."
"Like I said earlier, whatever you need."
