Chapter Thirty Six

When I ten I met a man who changed my life and outlook forever. He took me in and nurtured me, through him my horizon and knowledge of the world broadened. Through him I met his brother and learned that monsters existed but that he promised to protect me from them. I have been on a journey alone and shared but I now believe it has been in preparation for my destiny.

When I was seventeen my twin sister and I changed everything we knew for our mother. That decision, led us to the future we didn't even know about. I kept secrets for others, I had secrets for myself but they are out in the open. I thought I was meant to be a Mikaelson. I wasn't I was meant to be a Cullen. I know that now, I fought for what I wanted and came out victorious. Which is why I couldn't help but smile down at the wedding invite which everyone was getting.

I wobbled a bit in the heels that Rebekah was making me walk in. I was okay walking in heels but these I was having a bit of trouble with. Bella was having heaps of trouble though

"You just need to break them in." Alice offered

"I have been breaking them in, for three days." I smiled and walked over

"At least you're not falling now." I smiled

"It's alright for you. You can walk."

"Just, their thinner than the ones I've worn before." I protested

"Can't I just go barefoot?" Bella asked

"No, absolutely not." Alice retorted

"Just thinking it's a little too much, you know. The dress, the shoes and this."

"No, it's just enough. I made sure of it. Tomorrow is going to be perfect." Rebekah chimed. She and Alice had been planning the wedding. I was beyond grateful because if Alice had all her way, I would be getting married at a registrar office.

"Where do you want these boss." Emmett asked

"Either side of the isle." Alice stated

"What aisle?" Rosalie questioned.

"Does no one have vision?" The girls stressed. i laughed as they left the two of us alone. I slipped back into my Flats. I thought of Edward when Rebekah came back

"Home, you need beauty sleep."

"Yes, Captain." Bella and I went home. I finished packing when Cleo nudged me.

"Don't worry, we'll like our new home. I promise." I kissed her head. I felt a gust of wind and smiled

"Just checking for cold feet." Edward said

"No mine are cosy and warm." He took my hand

"It's not too late to change your mind."

"Now who's got the cold feet." he said nothing "Do you?"

"No, I've been waiting a century to marry you Ms Swan." i could sense a but.

"But?" Silence "But?"

"But I haven't told you everything about myself."

"Oh my gosh, you're not a virgin." He laughs at my antics and let go of my hand

"Look there is no way you can scare me now."

"A few years after Carlisle created me, I rebelled against him. I resented him for curbing my appetite. And so for a while, I went off on my own. I wanted to know how it felt like to hunt, to taste human blood, all the men I killed were monsters and so was I."

"Edward they were all murderers. You proberly saved more lives that you took."

"Jackie, that's what I told myself. But they were all human being's. I looked into my eyes as they died and I saw who I was, and what I was capable of." I got why he was telling me this

"And what I'll be capable of. Edward, I've met monsters. I know what they do and how they act. You're none of that. Did you really think this was going to change my mind about you?"

"I just wondered if it would change your mind about yourself and who you want to see when you look in the mirror a year from now." I got up

"I know I can do this. You know why. Because you did, the others did. You should give yourself credit for that. And a year from now when I can see. I'm gonna look in the mirror and see someone just like you. Someone capable of courage, sacrifice and love." He kissed me. I pulled away when I heard whittling.

"What is that?" I ask

"Jasper and I are late for our bachelor party."

"Send him out Jack-Jack or I'm coming in after him." Emmett teased

"So, this party. Are there gonna be strippers?" he chuckles.

"No just a few mountain lions, maybe a couple of bears."

"Don't worry, he'll be back in time." Emmett came up again

"Okay out, before he breaks my house."

"See you at the altar."

"I'll be the one of the girls in white." He chuckled and jumped out. I listen to the boys laughed and they left. There was a knock on my door.

"Come in Bella." she opened the door.

"Edward just leave?"

"Yeah, is everything okay?"

"Umm-humm. just wanted to share with you, like when we were little." I smiled at got into bed. Bella switched the light off and I went to sleep.
