The next day while the children were napping some of us were talking about the Volturi.
"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will attack me first because I can anticipate their moves." Edward tells us.
"To bad we don't all have your shield." Garret commented to my sister.
"Doesn't help me to fight though." She replied
"No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean shield someone other than yourself and Jackie."
"That's possible."
"You've already done it sis. You protect me." I say to her
"Gifts can be developed over time." Carlisle added
"At first mine was just in my palms. But now I can radiate it all over my body" Kate told my sister
"How." Kate didn't say. Bella grabbed her hand "Tell me."
"Ow." They went outside to practice.
"I wish I knew what i could do with my power." I sighed watching them from afar.
"Why don't you try it then?" Eleazar questioned
"Where would I even begin? There is so much you can do with the elements." I followed him outside to a different part from where my sister was training.
"You're families powers, from what I've seen come from the gut. try that out first." I concentrated but nothing happened

"Shut it Kol." I snapped and glared at him his smile dropped and looked down. Vines slipped around his legs and tugged at him backing him fall. I started laughing.
"Look." I stopped and noticed flowers around the trees began to bloom.
"Cool." Eleazar looked at Edward who then looked at me.
"Jackie, tell me how you feel?"
"Amazing."
"No about the volturi. Tell me how you feel." stiffened but said nothing "Let it out, don't bottle it up." I felt my nails put pressure on my palms.
"Anger."
"At?" Elijah questioned
"Them. Pure anger and hatred, they want to hurt my family. They're not allowed to do that." I felt a rain drop and I looked up, storm cloud were above us.
"Did I do that?"
"Yes, mother nature." I looked at my husband. He came over and kissed my head lightly, I felt calm once again.
"Edward is your main trigger. His words affect you. Soon you'll be able to do it on command." We practiced more till it was time for the children to have their dinner. I had never cooked but Edward had so after I played with them for a bit before reading them a story.
I was still learning how to read print since I read Braille most of my life I traced my fingers of a copy of a journey to a centre of the earth. I watched them fall asleep, smiling softly I put the book down and tucked them in before giving them each a kiss goodnight. I sigh down on the sofa and rubbed my face when I heard Edward come in.
"It's strange. Physically I feel like I could demolish a building. Mentally I'm exhausted." I tell him. He caresses my arm and kisses my shoulder
"How about I run you a bath." He slips my top up and I smile a little.
"I do remember how to undress myself."
"I know I just do it way better." I chuckle as I play with his fingers
"Hey, Jackie." I look at him "I've had a bad habit underestimating you. Every obstacle you've faced, I thought you wouldn't overcome it. And you just did. You're the reason I have something to fight for...My family." I kissed him softly.
"I'll get the water running." He stood up and went to the bathroom. I relax on the couch till I heard Bella.
'Alice left us a message.'
"What message?"
"J.Jenks Seattle. I think she left it for us because we're the only one's Aro can't read. You coming?'
"Obviously. But we have to come up with something'
'We could take the kids to Dad's'
'Okay'
"Jackie." I opened my eyes "Ready"
"Yeah" I stood and followed him

I laid in the bath with Edward relaxing.
"You know, I have lots of nicknames. Jack, Jackie, Jack-Jack. But after today a old one came to mind."
"What was that?" He wondered trailing his fingers up my arm
"Ape."
"Ape?"
"Yeah, cause I went ape shit when I was pissed" He chuckled "Nik called me it after a few of our lessons. It's funny what you remember."
