Chapter 41

Jennifer

"Nicely done", Ismael said. We were  having a celebratory brunch on the back terrace over looking the Sea of Cortez, at his estate in San Jose Del Cabo. The place had six detached bedroom plus a office den home in the prime location. The house was truly impressive almost on the level of Main House except there was exclusive beachfront property and we were in the exclusive Palmilla community of Villas del Mar giving an unparalleled view of the Sea. The was privacy and tranquility whilst still maintaining a community feel with all the benefits that go with it.

"I aim to please", after last night's show of force I was the golden girl in Ismael's eyes. I couldn't bring him Hector's head but getting rid of all of the members of the Jalisco New Generation was just as good. We watched my plan unfolded together.

"I was worry for a second",He said.

"Why is that?" I asked.

"It was just a feeling", Ismael said.

Quickly changing the topic I said,"Have you seen my husband? He doesn't check in with me. Which is fine but I still worry about him".

"Can't say I have.  Andros has always been a... free spirit. He'll pop up eventually", he said. Sipping on his line he snapped his finger and one of his guards started to walk towards me. Only to have one of my security team members stop him,"It's a gift, nothing with ill intent".

I nodded to my guard the stuff out of the way and I took the small white box in my hand and unwrapped it.

"O my", I said gasping looking at a diamond ring that could out do the ring Adam gave me.

Not really. I love the ring Adam gave me.

"It's only fitting you should have the ring too. It was modeled after Elizabeth Taylor's wedding ring", He said,"34-Carts".

It felt like it too.

"Thank you", I said putting it on my wedding finger,"As lovely as this has been. I have work to do now. If Alex shows up..."

"You will be the first to know",Ismael said,"Welcome to the family".

Standing up I said,"I wouldn't have it any other way". I looked over to my guard,"Let's go".

It was going to be five hour flight back to Puerto Peñasco. Once I was on the plane Ismael was going to get a call of a lifetime.

Adam

I looked at the white mansion by the sea from our car,"Some prison", Michael said sitting next to me in the car on his phone.

"There is a story here", I said. One I plan on hearing. The place was crawling with security.

But, no sign of Jennifer.

Or anyone important.

We had been sitting here all day and the sun had finally gone down. The lingering light was obliterated by the rapidly falling night. The once salmon and purple sky transformed into a vast expanse of jet-black that engulfed the property. A canopy of luminous stars materialized amongst the ocean of blackness. Some were dull, merely flickering into existence every now and then, but there was an adequate amount of shimmering stars to illuminate the dark, moonless night.

"I'm just going to point out the obvious, but do we have the wrong house?" Michael suggested.

James and Thomas's head turned to look at Michael with varies stares of confusion.

"What?" Michael repeated.

"You see the men with machine guns walking around, right? That doesn't exactly scream normal everyday neighborhood".
