This was a long time coming:

Had my last highschool band concert tonight. Feeling a little sad... and yet glad it's finally over. Got that nifty little letter to go with it too.

I got quite a lot of things from the band... some nice flowers, a letter from my band director, a weird glowy thing...

And yes, it does have my picture on it. It was one of the better photos there. All the seniors got flowers and the glowy thing with their pictures on it. It's pretty cool. We also got balloons and candy. Thank goodness I only brought my phone and keys into the school otherwise I wouldn't have been able to carry it all.

Also, yesterday I got myself a new African Violet to add to my slowly growing collection.

Hopefully it will bloom unlike my other ones

Hopefully it will bloom unlike my other ones... winter was not kind to them. Hopefully with more sunlight they'll bloom. This one has dark purple blooms. It's pretty cool. Almost got another one today with blooms that had two different colors, but we couldn't find the price tag on it and that's usually not a good sign. I felt bad for it though because the soil was absolutely soaked and it was sitting in a bag of water with the leaves touching the bag. All of that is a big No No for violets. They hate being over watered and will actually wilt if watered too much. Once a week is plenty, or when the soil feels dry to the touch. Having the pot sit in water is also a risk. But having the leaves touch a wet bag. That is a surefire way to kill it.

Might have to go back and see if it's still there and alive...
