A'ight, scam companies must think I'm stupid or something. Getting real tired of them.

Minutes ago, I want contacted via DM here on Wattpad by CoraDobrev, aka Scam Account.

First red flag:

Contact out of nowhere from a publishing house based out of my country. Publishing houses, even if they are legitimate, based outside your country, don't have to play by the same rules. Easy scam.

Second red flag:

The Pay-To-Read program. Like, really? Who gets paid to read unless that is your actual job?

Third red flag:

"If the stories are popular enough to join this program, the writers are able to obtain an extra share."

Ha! Popular. Why you contacting me? I'm not popular. Also, "if". Nuff said there.

Third red flag:

They want my email address. Nuh uh, buddy. Not happening.

Should I stop here or would you like me to go on?

Fifth red flag:

I looked up the company name, which, by the way, also looked sketch, and the whole thing is a scam. I won't go into how, but know that it this Dreame/Ficfun is a scam. They basically steal the rights to your books and give you a little money back. It's super shady and they don't give straight answers.

So please, fellow writers, be careful, protect your stories like they're your babies. Do your research, talk to published authors, be aware that scams like this happen all too frequently. Guard your personal information as well. This is the internet and even I have to remind myself sometimes that if someone wanted to, they probably could find out a lot about me. This isn't to scare you into forsaking the internet and going to live in a cave somewhere. This is a warning. People can, and will take advantage of you if you don't play smart. Be cautious. A little caution never killed anyone.
