*Recap Of Chapter 17*

"Hmm..." I thought for a second. What if I waited to say 'I love you' like he waited to ask me to be his girlfriend. I smirked. "Okay, well I think you deserve to be left hanging for a little while."

"What?! Why?"

"Payback." I shrugged.

"For what?"

"Think about it darling. What did you wait to do so long I thought about saying no?"

He had his thinking face on for a second, then it clicked. "Oh! I get it....wait a second! That's not cool!"

I laughed and skipped away.

"Say it."

"No."

"Say it."

"No."

"Gracie May Howards."

"Carson Lewis Meyers." I mocked.

"Why are you being so difficult?! It's been like a week and a half!"

"Your point?"

He threw his hands up in frustration. "You're so damn stubborn!"

"When did this become new?"

We were sitting in biology class and it was the last couple minutes before the bell rang. Maya was sitting in the corner brooding because when she walked in this morning she happily began walking over to Carson then totally biffed it.

"You fool!" I said falling out of my chair in laughter. She got up and pouted like a child and sat in the corner. I sort of feel sorry for her sometimes.

"Gracie, please!"

"Carson, you can't ask!"

"Well, what do you call what you did for two weeks straight?"

"This is different."

"No it's not."

"Yes it is." And here we go again. We argued for the next ten minutes then the bell rang.

I got up and walked out. When we were safely out of the classroom and nasty teacher vision he grabbed my arm and pulled me into him, planting his lips on mine.

When he pulled away I smiled. His eyes lit up a little, looking slightly hopeful.

"Nope, not going to say it."

It looked like an A bomb went off in his eyes, shutting that light off instantly.

"Fine!" He yelled stomping off.

I laughed to myself when Viola came up. I hadn't talked to her in a while. Nor have I even wanted to.

"What's his problem?" She asked smiling.

"He's just upset. No worries."

"About what?"

That's the thing, she always wants to know what's up. If something happened, she has to know. It's really annoying.

"Nothing." I smiled and swiftly walked to my next class.

I tried to get away from her, but she kept following and asking. Can't the girl take a hint?!

I finally got really fed up and turned around quickly. "I love him, but I won't say it!" I yelled. Everyone in the hallway stopped and stared. I could feel my cheeks turn bright red.
