Chapter 38

Ammar's POV.

I kept pacing back and forth the hall way of the hospital, feeling scared about Sauf's
health. I knew that Sauf didn't like staying in the rain but I didn't take that into consideration.
I waited for the doctor to come out of the ICU(Intensive care unit) impatiently. I wanted to know how she was doing and what happened to her.

Just as I was about to sit down, the doctor came out, trying to remove his stethoscope.

"Doctor! Doctor! How is She? What happened to her? Is she okay or not?" I asked, panting and all in one breath.

"Easy, Mr. Abdullah. The patient is out of danger now. But because her body can't resist too much rainfall, she lost consciousness. But she hasn't been eating well lately right?"

All I could do was squeeze my face in confuse.

"Well, the bottom line is, because she's weak and the rain hit her so much, she lost consciousness. So we will keep her here for three days. We want to monitor her feeding properly,"

"Okay doctor, thank you, can I see her?"

He simply nodded before he stepped aside and left.

I made sure I was looking fit and less worried before I turned the knob of the door. I almost broke down in tears when I watched her, still lying unconscious. I managed to pull myself together and look strong in front of her even though I knew she wouldn't care one bit.

I counted my steps as I strolled to her. I pulled out a stool from underneath the bed and sat on it. I Interwined my fingers with her and just when I touched her, her mind blowing eyes fluttered open.

"Sauf," I whispered. She tried to sit up right so I held her tightly and helped her to do so. "Easy,"

After she was done, we both settled in each other's eyes. She looked really pale and tired. So I handed her a glass of water. She was hesitantat first but gulped it down in a few seconds.

"Who brought me here?" She asked.

"Umm I think i-it was S-sara," I stuttered. I didn't want her to know it was me otherwise she'd be so angry.

"Don't forget, Sara was busy getting engaged. It was you wasn't it?"

"Umm-"

"No need to hide it. Thank you anyways. For caring," she smiled at me. I felt so happy at that moment. As if I should hug her as tightly as I possibly could. I felt the stars were in my favour at that moment.

"Oh erh...Well I'll get some food for you okay?"

She nodded and smiled again and it gave me so much pleasure and content.

I headed to the cafeteria to buy some food for Sauf. I got her vegetables and fruits with some oatmeal.

"Noooo! Why this food? I want some cake and ice cream," she whined.

"Look, you're still very weak and you need this for energy. You're just tryna look strong but I know you're still weak. Have this please," she pouted and took the tray from me. She looked so cute when she pouted.

After having her meal, we talked about random things for a while and I was shocked at the way she was free with me. I wondered whether it as her little accident that maybe manipulatedher brain a little.

I'M GETTING MY OLD SAUF BACK. YAYYY!

Sauf's POV.

Three days passed in the wink of an eye. They all passed in so much happiness. I felt so happy and at ease with Ammar. It was an entirely new feeling. Even when we were married, I didn't feel this way. From the day, I was admitted, he'd been by my side. He didn't even get any rest. He just kept taking care of me with the doctors and nurses.

When I got to know that it was him who brought me to the hospital, I got an entirely different view of him. I thought, only a good person at heart could do such a thing. All the hatred I had for him, started to vanish in this three days I had spent in the hospital with him.

The clicking of the door knob, made me pause from pouring myself a glass of water.

"Oh you're here already."

"Yeah I've signed the discharge papers. You done?"

"Yeah. Let's go!" I gulped down the water and walked out with him.

He opened the passenger sits door for me as I hopped in immediately.

Throughout our ride to my house, I was silent and so was he. I stole glances of him from the corner of my eyes and anytime I did that, I couldn't help but smile.

"I saw that!"

I couldn't help but chuckle. I just got caught.

We arrived home and after walking with me into living room, he left. Sara then came down the stairs with a gloomy face.

"Welcome back from the hospital!" She faked a smile and immediately replaced it with the long face.

"Come on! I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was-"

"Well I knew you were in the hospital. I wanted to come but-"

"Your *coughs* forbade us from coming us. Saying he wanted only your twice alone." Fahd interrupted.

"Urgh stop lying already, I know that's not the case," I felt they were right but I was trying not to believe them.
I just stood there staring at both of them.

"See, you've been smiling and blushing for 39 seconds now!"

"Subhanallah! What just happened to me."

"A new something happened to you. See, your view about him changed in just a few days. Can you see the power of-"

"Bye!" I ran to the stairs and ascended them.

On reaching my room, I locked it from the inside and lay down flat on my bed as I stared at the ceiling.

Could this be what Ammar was going to tell me before I fainted and what Sara was about to say just now? What is this? I'd been married to this man before but this is entirely a new feeling!

Am I in love with Ammar again?
