Chapter 12 - Hero

Katie's POV:

Five days had past. Five long, painful days. Five days without running water since all the sewers were backed up Five days without electricity. Five days without school. Five days living off of cans of tuna, black beans, and rice because all of the stores were closed due to flooding. Most importantly it was five days without internet. I coudn't talk to Emily or Louis until we had internet. I would have gone crazy if I didn't have Sasha and Angel with me for these past five days. My parents argued non-stop about where to put various debris and they argued about insurance claims. There was literally nothing they didn't argue about. I don't even know why they're still married.

I honestly didn't think about Louis for the first day. There was too much to do in order to clean up the mess the storm had caused. After that was finished I remembered Louis and realized I wouldn't be able to contact him for a long time. I had no way of getting a message to him without electrcity. I really hope he wasn't worried. Hopefully Eleanor was back and he forgot all about me.

As soon as electricity was restored, I went into into hiding like always. I got into bed with all my technology. I plugged in my phone, iPod, and laptop and powered them all on.

"Me: Did you arrive home safely?"

"Me: I guess you've gone to bed. Goodnight Katie :)"

"Me: Love, are you alright? You didn't come on last night or this morning?

"Me: Please tell me if there's something wrong?"

The notifications of messages came pouring in on my phone. There was even a tweet from Niall.

"Praying for our friends in Cali! Hope all is well!"

Or maybe he was just talking about their fans and calling them thier friends like they normally do? Oh, I need to stop thinking into things so much...

"Me: I'm so sorry Louis. I had no way to message you until now."

"Me: There was a hurricane and the power was out for days."

It wasn't long before he responded.

"Louis_Tomlinson: We heard about the hurricane. I'm glad you're alright."

"Louis_Tomlinson: We were all very worried about you"

"Me: Really?"

"Louis_Tomlinson: Well... mostly me."

"Me: Haha :D"

"Louis_Tomlinson: :)"

"Louis_Tomlinson: How is your family? Is everyone ok after the storm?"

"Me: Yeah there was some damage but we got pretty lucky. Most of the stores are opening back up. The entire town was brought to it's knees by the storm. We haven't been able to get groceries because of all the flooding."

"Me: How is Eleanor's parents? Is she back yet?"

"Louis_Tomlinson: Not yet. They're doing alright. I think she's coming back in a few days."

"Me: Just in time for the American leg of the tour. :)"

"Louis_Tomlinson: Yeah. Would you like to Skype?"

"Me: Isn't it kind of late there?

"Louis_Tomlinson: It is but I want to see your face again."

I hate it when he's all sweet like that.

And I hate even more to admit it but I really wanted to see his face again too.
