Head Over Feet

Fantastic Friday

"Thank God it's Friday." RJ thought.

He woke up earlier than usual and has a spring in his step as he rushes out of the house to his car.

It's 7:00am, he's sure he won't be late for his 9:45 class.

"I usually spend my Sundays drinking coffee..."

RJ recalls their first conversations.

Maybe he should buy her coffee, to make up for that awful text last night.

"I wonder how she likes her coffee." RJ thought.

One can never go wrong with a Mocha Latte right?

RJ falls in line at Starbucks, and sees Cai, Dei's friend in front of him.

"Miss Cai?"

Cai turns around, gives him a curious look.

"Yes?"

"RJ." He says, pointing at himself, hoping she would recognize him.

"Uh, ano... Ako yung... Bagets?"

"Ah! Oh Em Gee! RJ! Oo nga! Kamusta!"

Cai lightly hits his arm.

"Okay naman po." he laughs

"Grabe ka makatanda ha! Parang iba ichura mo pag nasinagan ng araw, para kang aparisyon!"

"Hahaha ganun po ba. Why are you in the area?"

"Routine ko na to bago pumasok sa school. Ikaw? Taga rito ka rin ba?"

"Ah. Yes may class ako mamaya, actually, prof ko nga si ano eh. Si... Miss Maine."

Cai stares at him for a few seconds, then smiles slowly, knowingly.

"Ay grabe sa tadhana kayong dalawa ha, studyante ka nya?!"

"Opo, nakakagulat nga eh."

"O eh di at least nagkita kayo ulit diba?"

Cai says as she puts sugar in her coffee and puts the lid back on.

"Oo nga eh... Buti na lang talaga... Tagal ko rin sya hinanap...."

RJ pauses and catches himself before he says too much and have Cai notice he's smitten with Dei.

But Cai doesn't miss it.

It's all over his silly poreless face.

"Hmm... Anywaaaay.... Sige RJ, nice seeing you ha. Taga La Salle ka pala. Sabi na nga iba yung dating mo eh, may tamang angas at humility."

"Ah sige po, see you around!"

"See you! .... Ay teka! Nga pala! May gimik kami ulit mamayang gabi, baka pwede ka. Eto number ko, text text tayo ha."

Cai gives her number to him then bids goodbye.

RJ has a feeling this is going to be a great day....
