Harry's POV
The light hurt my eyes once I finally opened them — the sunlight coming through in slots because of the bars on my window. I tried to get up, but as soon as I lifted my head, the room started spinning, and my stomach heaved. I know that I can't afford to vomit on my floor, I can't take another beating. I turned my head slowly, trying to see the time on the clock on my dresser. It read 11:46, and I can't believe no one has come to seek and wake me. Slowly, very slowly, I got up. First, I folded my knees in, then I lifted most of my body off the floor, leaving my head touching the floor because I know that my head will be the hardest part to move. Bracing myself for lifting my head, I start to become aware of a dull throbbing right above my but and atop of my head. By the time my head is off the floor, my entire body is shaking and sweating. I can hear some tapping, so quickly ( and slowly) I lift my head to see the owl is sitting right outside of my window. I slowly start ascending, trying to keep most of my weight against the bloody bed. The owl kept tapping against my window, and I glared at it." I can't let you in. I can't even get out!" I told the owl. Slowly the owl closed its eyes as if it had heard what I was saying. Then in a flash, the owl was gone and reappeared on my dresser. It hooted loudly, proud of its accomplishment. I reached out and grabbed the letter attached to its leg; it cried once more softly than before and disappeared once again. I opened the letter and inside were three pages. The first was simple, and it read- Dear Mr.Potter,It has come to our attention that you have undergone an early creature inheritance. Due to this discovery of your nature and the fact that we have no knowledge of your bloodline containing any creature blood, we ask that you would come to Gringotts and undergo an inheritance test and a bloodline test. As we have not been able to reach contact with you many times regarding other businesses, we have sent a portkey so that you may come at the earliest possible time. Its keyword is Goldflow.
