What Happened?

Finn's POV

"Uncles." Shane and Finley exclaimed happily.

"My little men." They exclaimed with big grins on their faces.

"You ok?" Shane asked crawling on Mark's bed.

"I'm fine little man. We always survive remember." He says ruffling Shane's hair.

"I know. You guys and mommy are pit bulls." Finley says and everyone laughs.

"Your mom is the scariest pit bull out of all of us." Austin says and they nod.

"How's the others?" James asked concerned.

We shook our head and looked at the boys. I wrote down what their conditions are on my phone and handed it to James.

After he read it he passed it down the line and you could see tears in their eyes. We talked for a little while and then were escorted to the ICU.

The moment we walked in Finley and Shane ran to Rory's bed. All three of them were in the same room.

"Mommy." Shane said with tears.

"Mommy wake up please." Finley said with tears.

My heart broke for my boys. I hated seeing them like this. Seeing my Rory like this is killing me. I sat by her bed and grabbed her hand.

"Why is she in a larger bed than the others?" Lorelei asked curiously.

"That was my doing." Captain Evens said.

"Why?" Robert asked curiously.

"I thought Shane and Finley would want to lay next to their mommy. You boys need to be careful ok boys?" He asked them softly.

"Yes. I want my mommy." They say together with tears. Colin and I gently put them in bed with Rory.

They wrap her arm around them as a nurse walks in. "I thought the two little ones might like a teddy bear and a blanket so they could sleep with mommy. The doctor told me they would want their mommy so I want them to be comfortable while they are with her." She says softly making her way to the bed.

"That's nice of you." I say.

"My mom was in the military also so I know how they feel." She says handing them a bear each and covering them up.

They quickly fell asleep in their mother's arms. "The last time they were like this was when they were born." I say choked up.

"You gave us all one hell of a surprise." My mom says smiling fondly at them.

"I remember we made sure we got a video and pictures." I say smiling at the memory. 

As we talk we hear someone stirring in one of the beds. "Tristan." Sarah exclaims crying on his chest.

We paged the doctor and he removed the tube and gave him some water. The doctor checked him over and left.

He looked over at Rory and shed tears. "Son what happened?" Marcus asked.

"Rory knew something was wrong the moment we walked in." He says choked up with unshed tears looking at Rory.

"What do you mean?" My dad asked fearful.

"She felt something was off and she was right. We got to the hostages and freed them. Then we were told by Austin and Mark we had incoming. I don't know why but they all were going towards Rory. They were trying to take her out. Believe me she got them before they got her or any of us or the hostages. The man that took the hostages she grabbed him and pinned him then all hell broke loose. We got injured. We protected the hostages and each-other. They were hell bent on getting us not the hostages. The guy said something to Rory I don't know what but she turned pale. That man knows something there is something up. They used armor piercing bullets." Tristan says choked up.

"I'll get to the bottom of this. I'll see if the guy gave any information about it." The captain says and leaves the room.

The days passed Austin woke up the day after Tristan. My sweet Rory is still unconscious. The boys will only leave her side to shower eat and use the restroom. They need her just as much as I do.

"Baby please wake up we need you. I love you so much baby. Can you believe we've been together seven years now. I am forever thankful I put my heart on the line and you felt the same." I say with a few shed tears.

"Daddy tell us stories about mama." Finley asked.

"You know little man your mom and I knew each other since we were in diapers." Tristan says.

"Really?" Shane asked.

"Yeah. Your named after the man we knew as kids and was our commander. He was a uncle to us. We did everything together. I told her that she needed to tell Finn how she felt." Tristan says with a small laugh.

"Mommy says she's the lucky one." Finley says smiling.

"No I'm the lucky one." I say smiling widely.

Finley and Shane cuddled up to Rory and looked at her.

"Mommy wake up please." Shane said and I felt Rory squeeze my hand.

"Baby come on open those big blues." I say hoping she will open her eyes.
