Finn's POV:

"Oh my God, Finn," Millie exclaimed breathlessly, "I can't believe he's actually doing it!"

I watched the girls in my peripherals, and begun to move my skinny limbs through the hot evening air. I felt so awkward. I never do this kind of stuff, but somehow, it seemed familiar.

My thoughts were interrupted as Millie bursted out laughing, adding a snort somewhere between giggles. I glaced up toward the abrupt noise, and my eyes landed on her genuine smile. God, it had been so long since I've seen her this happy.

I smirked at the gravel parking lot, ignoring the uncomfortable feeling in my gut, and continued to flail my arms to the rhythm of my pounding heart.

Was I nervous?

Why would I be nervous?

It was just Millie. Well, Millie, and Lilia and Maddie. I just didn't want to make a bad first impression, and what I did then seemed to be working.

I mean, the chuckling trio looked pretty happy to me as they recorded my movements on their devices. Why should I stop if they're having fun, even if I am slightly weirded out by myself?

"Please, just one jump?" Lilia practically begged while holding her phone, as my spontaneous dancing started to conclude.

I twisted my arms around, making hands as if I were about to light a pretend firework.

"Oh! Oh-What are you do-" Millie was interrupted as my pretend firework exploded, and her eyes lit up and she realized my charade.

All three of them stopped their recordings, and posted them on their Instagram stories.

I turned on my heel, giving them a goofy smile, and started to head back to the school trailer.

Suddenly, I felt something leap onto my back, nearly forcing me to topple over. I stumbled forward a few heavy steps, gripping onto whoever jumped on me.

I turned my head to the side, and found myself looking at those all too familiar light brown eyes.

"Is this okay, Finnie?"

I took a moment to gain my balance, and my eyes never left hers as they examined the gold flecks embedded in her irises.

"Y-Yeah, of course," I stuttered, feeling my face blush a deep red. Still, with burning cheeks, I looked into her eyes, searching them and analyzing her happiness when-

"Hey Sadie!" Maddie called out to the fiery haired actress, snapping me out of my trance.

What the hell Finn? What is wrong with you! She's just Millie, nothing more, nothing less.

"Hey Mads!" Sadie replied as she skipped out of her trailer, and jogged across the pavement toward her new friend.

I continue walking towards the school trailer, my co-star's body close against mine. Millie wrapped her arms around my neck, dangling her hands in front of my chest. I cupped my hands under her knees to hold her up, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

It's been so long since we've been this close. I missed making her laugh, and being happy because I'm making her happy. It's something I've been craving forever.

I can't believe I've forgotten how happy she made me feel.

Millie's POV:

As he walked heavily, I started to wonder if I should have asked Finn where he was going before I climbed onto his bony back.

"Hey Finnie?" I questioned, with a hint of whining.

"M-Mhm?" He grunted with trouble.

"Wait, are you ok?" I said, my face full of concern. My emotions always show on my face. It's good I guess, for acting reasons, but outside of acting? I hate it, because I'm playing myself, not a character.

Finn came to a jolting stop just in front of the school trailer, and I whipped my head up from its place on his shoulder. I leaned over, and saw that his knees were shaking, and his face was flushed a deep red. I immediately hopped down, my converse making a crunching sound on the gravel.

I walked around to face Finn. He wasn't looking the best. His Mike hair was beginning to curl back to normal, beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, and his entire body was trembling. All 5'9" of it.

"Oh my God, Finn!" I exclaimed, "Why didn't you say something? Why didn't you put me down?"

"I- I don't know. You seemed happy, and I didn't want to ruin that," He answered.

He looked down at his burgundy vans, appearing to be ashamed of himself. I gingerly slipped my hand into his, making his head jerk up immediately. His deep brown eyes searched mine for an explanation.

"Hey," I started softly, "Don't be upset that you couldn't carry me."

Finn smirked, his eyes darting to the ground, and up at me again.

"I mean, some things just never change," I joked. He didn't seem to be picking up what I was putting down. I mean, he couldn't pick me up either, so I don't blame him.

"Remember," I continued, dropping his hand, "Season one, when Gaten had to carry me?"

"Oh God, don't remind-" Finn was interrupted, as the other curly haired kid stepped out of the trailer at the mention of his name.

"Gaten had to what?" Gaten teased, in third person. Finn and I turned to face him, standing confidently in the doorway.

"You had to carry Millie in season one because I was fucking weak." Finn stated firmly, glaring at Gaten.

"And you still are!" I added, earning a playful punch in the stomach from Finn.

I looked up at him, still slightly worried that he was feeling hurt. I watched him as he read my face like the open book that it was. Satisfied with his conclusion, he gave me a slight nod of his head, and a reassuing smile.

"Hello? You guys coming or not?" Gaten said, clearly amused with the duo's interaction.

I turned on my heel, my curly half-up-half-down bob whipping around, nearly knocking my hat off, as Finn followed me into the trailer.
