Millie's POV:

"What are they going to say?" I asked the sweating curly haired boy, out of breath.

"I mean, the shipping thing is inevitable," he replied, and I slowly nodded as we walked to the elevator.

"The only thing they have on us is that we were alone in a Taco Bell together, right?" I questioned nervously. We stepped into the elevator, and I pressed the floor three button.

"Yeah. It's not like we were holding-" Finn stopped himself suddenly, followed by widened eyes and a frozen stance. I raised an eyebrow, and he turned back to face me.

"Millie, were we holding hands?" he asked, and I shrugged.

"I don't-" I started.

"Were we holding hands," he asked more roughly. I tried to put myself back there.

"Oh fuck," I mumbled, and Finn brought a hand to his forehead.

"I grabbed your hand right before we ran, didn't I," Finn realized, staring at the closed door in front of him. I gulped loudly in fear.

"I know where we can check," I whispered in fear, and we shared a frightened glance.

The elevator door slid open, and we ran over to the TV.

"Hey guys," Gaten greeted from the kitchen, which we ignored. I picked up the remote, gripping it tightly as I violently pushed the 'on' button.

"122...125...127!" I mumbled, selecting the gossip channel, then pressed 'ok'.

"-That's right, Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard. The co-stars held onto one another's hand for what seemed like dear life as they sprinted out of the Taco Time," a reporter said.

"God fucking damnit!" Finn exclaimed in frustration. He put his hands on the top of his head, and exhaled in defeat.

"Let's just turn it off," I suggested with a sigh.

"No," Finn said firmly, snatching the remote from my hand. I glanced over sharply, seeing his eyes glued to the screen.

"We both know it's not good for us," I explained, but he didn't listen.

"Many people have been speculating the pair to be a couple over the course of the last couple of months," the reporter said, and I turned back to the TV.

"However, Millie was seen just yesterday in LA kissing Jacob Sartorius. Is Millie Brown cheating on Jacob? Playing with feelings? Is Finn Wolfhard trying to steal her from Jacob?" the woman on the screen compared, and I froze. I could practically feel a dagger being shoved into the centre of my rib cage.

Tears began to gloss over my eyes, and I turned my head to Finn. He was pale as though ice were flowing through his veins.

"Please Finn," I pleaded anxiously, "Turn it off."

Finn pressed the off button forcefully, then stared hard at me. He had anger in his eyes, and also fear and sadness. But there was something else in his eyes. Something I've never seen before.

Something unfamiliar. A look I couldn't read.

Finn trained his eyes on something over my shoulder, then started walking. He brushed my arm lightly as he stormed heavily off to his and Caleb's room. He slammed the door shut, leaving me standing helplessly in the middle of the living room.

"You guys were holding hands?" Gaten asked, and I jumped.

"Fuck Gaten! You almost made me shit myself!" I accused angrily, and he threw back his head in laughter.
