Finn's POV:

"Huh?" Millie breathed in sharply, lifting her head off of my shoulder as the limo pulled up to our hotel.

"Where are we?" the half asleep girl asked, turning her head to face me. Her arms remained wrapped around my left, pulling her body closer to me.

"We're-um," I stammered at the minimal space between us, "We're back at the hotel."

"Oh..." Millie's voice trailed off, her eyes staring into mine in the dark of the night. The others got out of the limo, throwing Millie and I confused looks as they passed the dazed girl on the way out. Millie didn't move though, only continued to stare at me with a serious face.

"Finn," Millie started, "I..." she slurred in exhaustion.

"Here," I said, removing her death grip from my arm and taking her hand in mine. "Let's go inside."

"Okay," her voice dragged out. I scooted over to the door, Millie following very close. I opened the door and planted my feet on the pavement.

"Okay Millie, now you just have to get out of the car," I explained, and she pouted, but reluctantly stood up as I held her hand. I closed the door behind her, waving the limo off. It drove away, leaving Millie and I alone in front of the hotel entrance.

"I can't walk," she mumbled, and I turned back to face her.

"Okay, I'll piggy-back you," I offered, and she weakly hopped onto my back.

Suddenly, I felt something leap onto my back, nearly forcing me to topple over. I stumbled forward a few heavy steps, gripping onto whoever jumped on me.

I turned my head to the side, and found myself looking at those all too familiar light brown eyes.

"Is this okay, Finnie?"

I took a moment to gain my balance, and my eyes never left hers as they examined the gold flecks embedded in her irises.

I continue walking towards the school trailer, my co-star's body close against mine. Millie wrapped her arms around my neck, dangling her hands in front of my chest. I cupped my hands under her knees to hold her up, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

It's been so long since we've been this close. I missed making her laugh, and being happy because I'm making her happy. It's something I've been craving forever.

I can't believe I've forgotten how happy she made me feel.

Recalling I couldn't carry Millie for more than a short distance, I moved quickly to the entrance. She leaned her head on my shoulder, and I could feel her eyes examining my face.

"I like your freckles," she whispered into my ear. Did I hear her wrong? I kept walking, nearing the elevator.

"What did you say?" I asked, putting her down, then pressing the 'up' button on the wall.

"I said," Millie began, walking around so she was directly in front of me, "I like your freckles."

"Really?" I asked, bewildered. What the fuck?

"Yeah, and your hair, and your eyes, and your face..." she listed off.

"Thanks, Mills," I replied, completely unsure how to respond. I could feel my face hotten. God, could that elevator come any slower?

She shrugged with a smile, and we both turned out heads as the elevator door opened beside us. I took her arm and placed it behind my shoulders so I could assist her into the elevator. I pressed the penthouse button, and the door shut quickly as we started to ascend.
