Millie's POV:

Today, we started filming in Mike's basement, my favourite set.

I was alone on the set then, sitting in the blanket fort reading my lines. Finn was going to collect water bottles.

Since we film so often in the fort, the blankets and sleeping bags get all messy and untidy. I never really thought about how every time we go to film in it, it's nice and tidy again.

That was, until one morning when I came to set early. I saw that Finn and I's golf cart was missing from our trailer when I got there. Naturally, I got curious and checked the day's filming location, which was the Wheeler's house.

I decided that I should check if anyone was here early like I was, so I walked briskly over to the set. I heard some music playing quietly, sounding like it was coming from the basement.

I crept down the stairs, first noticing a Twin Peaks album on the record player. Then, I heard some rustling across the room and turned my head to see a curly haired boy straightening the blankets in the fort.

My mouth immediately dropped open in awe, I had no idea that he did that. It was really sweet, since we were the only two to ever go in there. I think he wanted it to be nice for us.

Even then, it was awkward between us. I was with Jacob, Finn was hanging out with the older cast members. We stopped hanging out, and that caused us to really drift apart.

The only time we saw each other was either during filming or press for Stranger Things and anything related to the show. Never outside of that. I miss that from season one.

My thoughts were snapped back to reality when I heard someone calling my name.

"Millie! Are you down here?" a familiar voice asked.

"We brought you Starbucks!" said another one. I love Starbucks.

"Yeah, I'm in the basement!" I yelled back, hastily climbing out of the blanket fort, not wanting anyone to see me in there. I turned around, seeing none other than Lilia and Maddie walking down the stairs.

"Hey!" the two girls greeted me.

"Aw! You guys didn't have to bring me anything!" I said, then wrapped my arms around my friends.

"Also," I started, breaking apart the hug and taking a step back, "You guys aren't supposed to be down here."

"We know, so we asked Shawn if it would be okay for the day, and he said yes!" Maddie exclaimed.

Wait.

"Shawn's back?" I questioned.

"Oh, you didn't know? Come with us!" Lilia said excitedly, grabbing my hand.

I followed Lilia and Maddie as they ran up the stairs and out Mike's front door. I squinted across the parking lot, spotting one of our main directors, Shawn Levy.

"SHAWN!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, starting to sprint towards him.

"MBB!" He yelled back, catching me in his arms as I ran forcefully into him.

"It's so good to see you!" he said, lowering to his speaking voice.

"You too! I thought you weren't supposed to be back for another few weeks," I said, sort of confused.

"I wasn't, but the Duffers were satisfied with what you guys filmed these last few weeks, so we don't have to re-film anything during these next few weeks," he informed me, and I grinned.

"Well, it's good to have you back," I said.

"It's good to be back. Congrats on your Emmy nom, by the way!" he exclaimed.

"Oh, thank you!" I replied, smiling.

"Have you seen any of the boys around? Or Sadie?" he asked.

"Yeah, we're all scattered about though. Finn's here with me, but he went to go get his water supply for the day," I explained.

"It's like Finn drinks too  much water," Shawn joked, causing me to let out a chuckle.

"What about me?" a voice asked from behind me, so I turned around.

Finn walked towards me, holding nearly ten water bottles in his arms.

"Oh, we were just talking about your obsession with water," Shawn said, peeking out from behind me.

"Shawn!" Finn exclaimed, dropping the bottles and pulling our director in to a tight hug.

"Have you seriously grown in the month that I've been away?" Shawn asked, holding Finn at arms length.

"I mean, maybe. I wouldn't be surprised though," he replied, goofily smiling.

I grabbed my caramel iced coffee from Maddie, and the five of us made our way to Mike's basement, shortly joined by the Duffers.

I found two chairs at the edge of the room, and carried them over beside my chair for Lilia and Maddie. They sat down, and Finn and I walked over to the blanket fort.

While the three directors talked about the scene and set up the cameras, Finn and I sat down in the fort beside each other. I pulled out my phone and searched the hashtag, 'mileven' into Instagram.

Whenever Finn and I have to do one on one scenes together, we watch Mileven edits beforehand. It really gets us into character and helps set the tone for the scene. Sometimes we even watch Fillie edits.

When I announced that to the audience at Stranger-Con with Noah, all the fans flipped their shit. Fillie cycled around again for the first time in a while, and Finn and I were practically attacked by people asking for confirmation of Finn and I's dating rumours. We decided to ignore it and move on, just like every other ambush.

Sitting so close to Finn that we were touching brought back so many memories from a few years ago.

Finn had his band, I had photoshoots and conventions. But most importantly, I had Jacob to deal with. A friendship just wasn't going to work out between Finn and I.

And because of that,

Sometimes I wish I just broke things off when Jacob cheated on me with some random girl on snapchat.

Sometimes, I wish I never dated him at all.

I brushed my thoughts to the side, focusing on the task at hand: becoming El.

Mike's El.

I didn't realize my head was leaning on Finn's shoulder until our last edit started to end. I lifted my head softly from the crook of his neck, and he looked at me with a little smile on his face.

I leaned in, and kissed Finn quickly on the cheek.

It just felt so perfect in that moment. I didn't even realize Shawn had called action.
