Millie's POV:
We filmed a short scene with the other kids shortly after the scene with Finn. Then, it was lunch. We weren't allowed to leave though, because we had to film with the teens for a night scene later.
My eyes scanned the cafeteria, not seeing anyone I knew. I walked to a table in the corner, and sat down, my back to the rest of the room. I ate my salad blank faced, my eyes fixated on the wall in front of me. My phone buzzed in the pocket of my 80s jeans, and I plopped my fork down into my salad bowl. I reached my hand down, and pulled out the device. It read: one new text message. I unlocked my phone, and tapped on the iMessage app.
Finnie🎸: Hey Mills, remember that picture Joe took of us by the lamp post?
Me: Yeah, what about it?
Finnie🎸: Well, it turns out it was never posted.
Me: Oh really?
Huh. I exited the app, and went onto Instagram. Sure enough, it was no where to be found. I did some quick research on popular update fan accounts, and it wasn't there either.
It really wasn't released.
Me: You're right, I just checked. Do you want me to post it?
Finnie🎸: Yeah, but not yet. We should plan a caption or something like the other people do.
Me: Isn't that a couple's thing?
Finnie🎸: I mean, I guess. Idk, maybe we could do a Mileven thing or something.
Me: Okay, sounds good 😉
Finnie🎸: Why the wink?
Me: Idk, why do you want to post the picture of us?
Finnie🎸: Idk Mills!
Me: Exactly! Lol
Finnie🎸: Hey where are you?
Me: I'm eating my salad in the cafeteria, where are you?
Finnie🎸: I'm with the boys and Sadie, we were looking for you.
Me: Oh
Finnie🎸: We're on our way! 😉
I turned my phone off, a grin spreading across my face. I placed my phone in my pocket again, and returned to my salad. I lazily chomped on the bland lettuce, feeling lonely. Until I heard Finn's voice and Caleb and Sadie's giggles. Then I felt even more left out.
I turned my neck, seeing the light flooding in from outside as my cast mates entered the cafeteria. They walked in a group, smiling and laughing. Gaten waved at me, which I returned a slight purse of my lips. The five of them continued their conversation, filing into line to receive their meals.
"Hey Millie," Noah said softly, approaching my table with a tray in hand.
"Hey Noah," I replied, nearly mumbling.
"Is something wrong?" Noah whispered, sitting down beside me.
"I don't really want to talk about it," I said, turning my head and displaying a small smile.
"Okay. Let me know if you do," he offered, and I nodded sincerely. The rest of the group sat down at the table, chatting away. I put on my best fake smile, and did what I did best. Act.
-----------
It was around nine o' clock in the evening. I sat cross-legged on the burgundy felt love seat in mine and Finn's trailer, working through an algebra booklet by the light of my blue lamp.
