I woke up early and made breakfast like it was a normal day back at home. I got dressed in my training clothes and fixed my hair into a bun.

I was so glad that it was Friday, my arms ached from battle training, and if I did to much magic I got a really bad headache.

I wanted to see Rainy before I left for training, but I didn't feel like going all the way up to the picnic tables, so I decided to get to battle training early.

I walked over to the door and opened it, and my earlier wish came true. Rainy was standing on the door step with her hand up like she was about to knock, but never got the chance.

"Hey." I said, smiling. "Hey." She replied. "What's up?" "Can I come in?" Rainy asked, she was acting weird. "Uh, yeah. Is something wrong?"

Rainy sat down at the table. I sat across from her. "Rainy?" A tear rolled down Rainy's cheek. She looked away. "Look, there's something I need to tell you. Now, I'm not suppose to be doing this, but I need to tell you, I just don't think it's right to keep it from you."

She took a couple shaky breaths and turned back towards me. "That prophecy everyone talks about, you are in it, but, it's nothing good. You- you're- ugh! Why do I have to be friends with you?"

"Rainy, please just spit it out." She took a few deep breaths, then said, "Rose, you're mark for death."

My jaw dropped. "Wait, what?" My heart pounded. "In the prophecy. It states a pure blooded magician will probably die at 18. Oh, and something is suppose to happen on your 16th birthday."

"What? Rainy my 16th birthday is next Wednesday!" "Yeah, I know. That's why I told you." I threw my hands up and stood abruptly. "I need to talk to Mr. Blackwood. Now. Will you come with me?" The girl nodded and without thinking we walked out the door.

"Mr. Blackwood, I need to hear the prophecy! My 16th birthday is next Wednesday! Please!" Mr. Blackwood stood up. Me and Rainy were inside The Mansion in Mr. Blackwood's office.

"So, Rainy told you you were marked for death? It's not definite, only a possibility. You must understand." He put his hand on my shoulder, but I jerked away. "Don't." I gave him a fierce look.

The old man only smiled. "I've known many teens in my years, Rose, but none like you. You get what you want, even if you could die for it, don't you? My dear, I'm afraid I see no other option than to let you know the prophecy."

I beamed. "Really?" The man nodded. "Come. Rainy, you may come with us." Rainy trailed a little behind us as Mr. Blackwood lead me into The Mansion.

"I guess I should start at the beginning of the story, huh," Mr. Blackwood said, showing me a tapestry with a prophecy written on it in a language I didn't know.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." "So, almost 2 decades ago, this prophecy was made. It spoke of a magician with pure blood. Now, you must understand, full blooded magicians are very rare. You are the only one we've seen in years, well, except your father."

"Once the prophecy was made, everyone looked upon your father to marry a magician, have kids. One of them is bound to be part of the prophecy. But, your father didn't want to get married."

"He waited several years, and he fell in love with a mortal." Mr. Blackwood spat the word like he despised it. "Everyone scolded your father, telling him he would ruin the prophecy, tainting his child's pure blood with a mortals."

"So, your father and mother disappeared from sight, and everyone waited for them to announce a marriage, or to announce a break-up. 3 years later they announced a marriage."

"Once they married, they moved away and kept your powers a secret. Your father even got a mortal job. You lived a normal life. But we never stopped watching, we found many mortal we thought were you, but when Jackson said he saw you do magic on accident when you turned 13, we watched you even closer."

"And now here you are." I smiled. "Here I am. Um, sir, you still haven't told me the prophecy." The man nodded. "These tapestries depict scenes from the past, and prophecies. This one in front of us is the one we believe you're in, Rose."

I tried to read the tapestry, but I could only read setts in things, like 'magicians' and a few different numbers.

"Out of a group of many, 2 shall fall.

One of pure blood shall answer the call.

On the day of 16, a surprise shall come.

And on the day of 18, the war should be won.

But may all be warned,

Though a sword may fail

One master, evil or good, shall prevail."

Mr. Blackwood studied my face as I studied the tapestry. I could read it clearly now, and it didn't seam so bad. I understood where everyone got the "marked for death" thing, but it said if we won the war, I would live, right?

"That's not so bad...," I said. "No, just dangerous!" Rainy yelled, obviously ticked off at my calmness. Mr. Blackwood looked a little surprised at my calmness too.

"Rose, I have to go," Rainy said, and stomped out with me running after her.
