"...What's wrong?"

Even though she knows what it was about, Sakura still found herself asking her mother about the sudden question.

"What do you mean 'what's wrong'? You dare to question me after I see you hugging a boy?" She scoffed.

Her brows furrow at this. "Mum, he's just a friend. I don't get what's the proble—"

"It is a problem!" The blue girl almost flinched when she cut her off, raising her voice as she took a step closer. "Your father and I were away for three days and this is the first thing I see from your behaviour? Hanging out with some lowlife and distracting you from your studies? I thought you're better than that!"

Her throat tightened. "He's not a lowlife, mum..! You don't have the right to say that!"

"Don't talk to me in that tone!"

Just then, the father came walking into the living room as if the situation hasn't gotten any better.

"I couldn't help but overhear," he glanced at his daughter with a stern look. "Who is this boy?"

Sakura stared at the both of them, and she couldn't help but feel confined as her heart starts to escalate, jitters crawling on her skin.

"He's just another friend from school. We were just—" A sudden lump got caught in her throat. "We were just hanging out. That's all."

"Well, you shouldn't. Anymore."

Her gaze flickered back to her mother, looking at her in disbelieve. "What?"

"I don't want you to hang around any of your friends anymore. I don't care who they are as long as—"

Sakura couldn't help but snap.

"Are you kidding me?" Her voice cracked as she subconsciously took a step back. "Are you seriously giving me that bullshit? Just how long are you going to fuck my life up to the point that I can't even have friends? What is wrong with you? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

She furiously wiped off the tears already streaking her face as she took in a shaky breath.

"Whoever you saw just now, he's not a lowlife! He makes me happy, mum! He makes me happy and gives advice I didn't know I needed unlike any of you! All you guys ever do is give me shit whenever you want and neglect me whenever I tried to talk to you! But keep doing that! I don't care! Because.. I finally have someone who can make me feel like myself unlike before.." The girl bit her lip furiously as tears blurred her vision again, letting them fall as she felt the heavy silence blanketing the room.

Suddenly feeling suffocated, Sakura took off her shoes, not bothering to place them on the rack before she nudged past them, feeling a hand brushing her shoulder.

"Sakura—"

"Don't touch me," she firmly said, throwing whoever's hand away from her.

She quickly made her way to her room, shutting the door behind her and locked it. She made her way towards the window, sliding it open before she climbed out and made her way up by using the pipes.

And once Sakura finally made it to the rooftop, she burst into tears.

As much as it breaks her, the sailors had to go through another thunderstorm again, and she was pretty sure they were getting sick and tired of it. They were getting tired of the frigid waves sweeping at their feet. They were tired of pulling so many ropes and tightening the knots. They were tired of the sound of the raging storm that was surrounding them.
