leyla didn't know what to do. she hated school but she hated home more. her mum had started drinking again and it scared her, she was a violent drunk. she wanted to tell someone, luke maybe but she didn't want it to change things, make him only talk to her because he felt sorry for her.
she walked out of school, avoiding the crowds as much as possible, and walked towards the seafront. the seagulls were loud - typical brighton. she sat on the beach, music playing through her headphones, her head buried in her hands.
