Chapter 34

KEIRA’S POV

“Sound check. This is HQ. Can everybody hear me clearly?” I heard a chorus of confirmation galing sa grupo ko.  Nandito pa rin sa E-room si Ran kaya binigyan niya ako ng thumbs up para I’confirm na narinig niya ako ng maayos.

        Nasa huling round na kami ng preparations and they can move out any minute now. Hinihintay na lang nila ang go signal galing sakin. In’off ko muna ang mic ko at lumapit kay Ran. Kinakausap niya si Yan. Chineck at inayos ko ang bulletproof vest niya at pati na rin ang mga dala niyang armas.

“How many times do you need to check them, love?” Hinigit niya ako and gave me one tight hug.

“Make sure to come home safe.  Hindi kita mapapatawad kapag napahamak ka and don’t think that I will forgive myself either.”

“Shh.  I’ll come back to you in one piece.  Don’t worry, okay?”

“How can I -”

“Trust me.” Tinignan niya ako ng seryoso at naghintay ng sagot ko.  Nagbuntong-hininga muna ako bago tumango sakanya.  Hinalikan niya ako sa noo.

“I love you so damn much.”

“I love you, too.” Sabi ko sakanya habang natatawa pa ng konti dahil sa sinabi niya.

“Hoy kayong tatlo! Siguraduhin niyong palaging ligtas ang mag-ina ko habang wala ako.”

“Don’t worry about her, ‘lil bro.  She’s safe here.”

“I don’t want to take any chances, Khyan.”

“We’ll take care of thing here.  Focus on your part, Ran.  You need to go now.  Tell everyone that we’ll start in ten.” Tumango na lang siya sakin and gave me one last kiss, but this time, it’s on my lips.  Pagkatapos ay lumabas na siya without saying anything else.

“Well, I think he’s ready.” Bulong ko sa sarili ko at bumalik na ako sa station ko.  Naghanap ako ng pinaka’komportableng pwesto at isinuot ang communication device ko.  I switched it on.

“Let’s do this, guys.”

        I gave them the go signal and we watched as the trackers connected to ZEUS split into four different routes. I was able to meet each and every member of the different mafias from Round Table last night.  Ryu-nii, Nam Tae-oppa and Mr. Gokudera are the only leaders na nandito pero pinadala naman ng ibang mafias ang pinakamalalakas ng unit nila. I appreciate their help at sinigurado kong nakarating sa kanila ang pasasalamat ko.  They’re risking their lives for my mafias’ sake.  Sinigurado ko ding may sapat silang pahinga bago namin ito gawin. Last night, my FMOA and Royal Guards are all on edge.  Lahat sila ay mga seryoso buong magdamag and I couldn’t blame them. Kahit ako ay nag-aalala din.  Nag-aalala ako para sa kanilang lahat.

        Ilang oras din nilang kinabisa ang magiging galaw nila pagdating sa mga hideout na naka’toka sa bawat grupo. I was supervising their meetings.  I was actually amazed dahil kahit unang beses nilang magsama-sama, there’s something there that made them comfortable with each other almost immediately.  I am so proud of these people.  Kung hindi nga lang ako buntis, I would like to work with them side-by-side.

“Em, my group will reach the hideout within the next 30 minutes.” Ang hideout na nakatoka sa grupo ni Hale ang pinakamalapit dito kaya grupo niya din ang mauunang makarating sa target.  Clark’s was the farthest one.

“Brief them about the current situation in your hideout.”

“On it.” Malayo pa sa target ang grupo ko kaya pinanuod ko muna ang mga ginagawa ng mga kalaban.  Nothing unusual happened since this morning. May isang kotse lang ang umalis sa hideout with three men on it at hindi pa yun bumabalik hanggang ngayon. My group is aware of that.
