Sabina's POV- April 2018

"So do we like Adrian?"

Dad had filled himself up a glass of wine and was slowly sipping it.

"We do" I answered.

He nodded and licked his lips before glancing at the time.

"Is he running late?"

"No, he's on time you just got here early" I noted.

He smiled.

"You know the older couple across mean no harm, but they mentioned to me that they have seen a young handsome man leave early some mornings. A nice sports car is sometimes parked in the driveway all night"

These old people really had no life if they worried about a guy leaving my place at 8 AM.

"You're using protection, right?"

I scrunched up my nose.

"We're not having sex" I informed him.

He placed a hand on his chest as he let out a sigh of relief.

"Okay, yeah. Please use protection, I'm not ready to be a grandparent just yet"

"He has spent the night a couple of times, but nothing has happened" I assured him.

"I'm not saying don't have sex, enjoy your youth you know. Just when it happens, please wear protection"

He proceeded to wiggle his eyebrows and wink

"Eww," I noted at the wink

He chuckled just as the doorbell rang.

"I can go get that?"

"No, he is nervous enough" I replied.

"Well then, while you go get him I will set the 3 plates and dining ware?"

I nodded.

"Please, be nice," I told him.

"I'm always nice"

"Ha," I said as I made my way to the front door.

I quickly walked down the stairs and took a deep breath before opening the downstairs door.

"Hey" I greeted Adrian.

Through my peripherals, I saw my nosey old neighbor arriving. They had an old-school garage, so they had to step out of the car to unlock it.

"Good afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson" I called out before pulling Adrian inside.

I could hear dad cackling upstairs as I closed the door.

"My dad is here already" I informed Adrian.

His eyes widened, and he visibly gulped.

"I like you, which means he will too" I assured him.

He slowly nodded as I kissed his cheek.

"Are the flowers for my dad?" I questioned.

That earned a small chuckle from him.

"No, they're for you"

I smiled as he leaned in, to peck my lips.

"The wine is for your dad"

"He will be very thankful," I said.

We made our way upstairs.

"Dad" I called out.

"Yes, darling?"

Adrian closed the front door and followed me into the kitchen where dad was.

"What pretty roses"
