Sabina's POV- June 2018

"Good morning" I greeted as I answered Adrian's Facetime call.

By the looks of it, he was still in bed and half asleep. The scrunch on his nose led me to believe that it was too early for him to be up.

"Just morning"

I laughed and propped my phone against a perfume bottle.

"You're up early" I noted.

He groaned.

"I know"

Adrian always called me when he woke up, and I would do the same when I woke up. The time difference was quite large, but we were doing fairly well. We both enjoyed our sleep time, so we both called each other when it was late at night for the other person.

"How was your day?"

"I spent the majority of it doing laundry" I answered.

He hummed.

"Fun"

I ran a towel through my damp hair as I sat on the edge of my bed.

"Why are you up so early?" I wondered.

Adrian usually called me at around 11 PM (CA time), right before I went to bed and it was still early over there in Sweden.

"Oh, it's not willingly. I promised my brother I'd help him set up the nursery for the baby"

He frowned a bit and actually sat up.

"What are you doing right now? It's too early to go to bed"

It was past 9:30 PM right now, so he was right.

"I have to fold and put away all my laundry," I told him.

"That's the worst"

I wasn't looking at my phone, but I heard him groan meaning he had gotten out of bed.

"Hey, Sabs"

"Yes?" I questioned.

"Can I ask you a personal question"

"Sure" I answered.

"Do you have any fake teeth?"

I actually only had one fake tooth.

"Yes," I replied.

He raised an eyebrow.

"No way, which one?"

"My left top canine tooth" I responded.

"How did that happen?"

We (Women's hockey players) are technically not allowed to slam opposing players against the boards but it still happened.

"I got slammed against the boards," I began.

And I was not wearing my mouth guard correctly at the time I took the hit.

"How hard did you get hit?"

"Hard enough to bust my lip and knock off my tooth" I informed him.

"I bet there was blood"

"Lot's of it" I answered.

After that, my mouthguard was always on.

"Were you not wearing a mouthguard?"

"I had one, but I was chewing on it" I stated.

He chuckled.

"I learned my lesson after that" I noted.

I turned to look at my phone to see he was brushing his teeth.

"Have you lost any teeth?" I wondered.

He shook his head and moved away from the camera as he spit out the toothpaste foam and rinsed his mouth.

"Nope, but I have chipped some"

Interesting.

"I will eventually lose one though, the helmets don't really protect the lower half of your face"

That's true.

"At least the league has a mandatory visor now" I noted.

He nodded.

"Yeah. By any chance, do you have your skates on hand?"

"They're at my dad's" I answered.

"Can you pack them?"

He smirked.

"If you don't it's fine, I'll just buy you a pair here"

I rolled my eyes.

"I can pack them," I told him.

"Thanks"

I smiled.

"So I'm going to a baseball game tomorrow" I mentioned.

He hummed.

"Fun"

"We should go to one when you get back" I suggested.

"Uh, I don't really like baseball"

"Why not?" I asked.

"It's a long game"

"About the same length as a hockey game" I compared.

He smiled.

"Okay, we can go to a game. But expect me to ask lots of questions. I don't like going with Luce because I feel really stupid"

"I'm okay with you asking questions" I answered.

I fucking loved going to baseball games. Sure watching the game was fun, but the atmosphere there was one like no other. Growing up, dad would get tickets at work and he'd take me with him. We'd get there early, and he'd buy me an overpriced Dodger dog and we'd share it (I never actually finished an entire hot dog) in order to save room for dessert.

"Lucy's bestfriend, Marisol is going out with one of the players," I told him.

He hummed.

"Yeah, I think his name is Cody"

I nodded earning a chuckle

"She's too good for him from what I've heard"

Oh for sure.

"Did his family stop meddling?"

"They've stopped meddling" I stated.

"It took them long enough"
