Twenty - Eighty

Sabina's POV- October 2018

I shut off and reached for my ringing phone.

"Hello," I greeted.

"Hey, are you on your way?"

"I'm outside, I'll be inside in a second" I replied.

"I'm all the way in the back"

"Gotcha, see you then," I said.

I ended the call and reached for my purse. It was so fucking early, but apparently, this conversation was so urgent. The place was empty, but then again it was 8 AM on a Saturday morning. I quickly spotted Christian's and made my way over to him. He looked up from his phone and stood up when he noticed me.

"Hey" I greeted.

He offered me a smile and watched as I placed my purse on the chair.

"Hi, thanks for agreeing to meet up"

I smiled and accepted his hug.

"You were insistent" I noted.

I eyed the menu.

"Do you want anything to drink?" I asked.

He looked at the menu.

"Uh, do they have any cold brew?"

I looked at him surprised.

"You drink coffee now?" I questioned.

He chuckled.

"Yeah"

I grabbed my purse and followed him to the register.

"What do you want? I got it"

I looked up at the menu.

"An iced Caramel Macchiato," I chose.

He ordered a cold brew and pulled out his wallet. 

"You don't want anything to eat?"

I shook my head.

"No, I'm actually meeting up with a friend for breakfast" I replied.

I had agreed to have breakfast with Lauren and Jonny.

"We have time" I assured him.

I did not have to meet up with them for another 2 hours.

"So how's school?"

"It's been hard to get used to the pace" I admitted.

"Well it has been a while since you graduated"

Almost 2 years.

"Yeah, Adrian tells me not to be so hard on myself" I noted.

Yeah, I was going to say my boyfriend's name in front of him.

"Since you brought up your boyfriend, I want to apologize"

"For?" I questioned.

"I didn't send him or your other friend that message"

Right away, I knew the message he was referring to.

"Then who did?" I wondered.

He scrunched up his nose.

"Cam did"

Cameron was his younger brother.

"I tried to clear things up myself when I was in LA in August, but you were out of town"

Oh, so that's why he was there.

"Mom gave me the address of the place you live in"

I bit the inside of my cheek as I nodded.
