13. You're both so stupid

After a while we decide to leave Zac's house, it was getting late. We promised we would hang out again.

As we left I heard someone calling my name.

"Rose!"

I turned around and saw Eddie, the guy who had the vintage shop.

"Yes?" I ask intrigued.

Taylor stands behind me holding the door open

"I was wondering if... Maybe I could get your number? And maybe we could get coffee someday or something?" He asks shyly.

I look at him surprised. I don't know what to say.

"I... I mean- Yeah, sure." I smile nervously.

Did I just say yes? Why would I do that?

"Cool" he smiles and hands me his phone. I add my contact and I give it back. "See ya"

"Bye" I wave awkwardly and leave passing Taylor.

We get to his car in silence. I sit and sigh.

I'm stupid.

Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy. And kinda cute. But my heart is set in another certain guy sitting next to me right now.

We stay in silence for a few seconds as he starts driving.

He looks serious. Really different from the bright smile he has had all evening.

"So... are you gonna go out with Eddie?" he finally broke the silence.

I sigh.

"I don't think so, he's... Not really my type" I play with my chapstick avoiding his gaze.

"Then why did you give him your number?" he asks confused.

"I-I don't know." I pause "I guess I got caught off guard and I didn't want to hurt his feelings" I explain.

He nods.

"You should go out with him" he suddenly says.

I look at him confused.

"What?"

"I mean he's a cool guy, why not?"

I look at him unbelieving.

Is he really saying this?

"I don't really like him, Taylor" I mutter.

"Okay, okay, it's just my advice" and he ends the conversation like that.

I sit in silence thinking for a second.

Why the hell would he say that?

Does this mean he doesn't have feelings for me?

I mean why else would he tell me to go on a date with another guy?

I sink onto my seat thinking about it.

I'm stupid.

Why would I think he actually has feelings for me?

That's stupid.

I sigh again and I realise we have arrived to Taylor's house.

I get out of the car without waiting for Taylor and I get inside.

I take off my leather jacket and I start walking upstairs.

I hear him in the living room.

"Good night" he says loud enough for me to hear.
